I stayed on the 12th floor and barely heard street noise, which honestly shocked me given the location.

You’ve got the Herald Square subway station literally a few blocks away, which connects you to basically everywhere. Want to walk to Times Square? Five minutes. Craving some real food instead of tourist nonsense? Head west toward Ninth Avenue and you’ll hit some genuinely good spots that locals actually eat at. I grabbed coffee at this little place on 37th and Ninth every morning – way better than hotel coffee, and the walk gave me a chance to see the neighborhood waking up. The area gets busy during the day, sure, but it’s not the overwhelming tourist madness you get closer to the actual square. Evening walks around Hell’s Kitchen are pretty great, actually – there’s this buzz of people heading to dinner or shows, but it doesn’t feel frantic.

Staff-wise, they seem to actually know the city, which is rarer than you’d think.   The location is excellent, close to the metro station and walking distance to Time's Square. The room was clean and cosy. The breakfast was not very diverse, but everything was very tasty.
