Hotel Stanford Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Stanford on West 32nd Street, you immediately get that classic New York boutique hotel vibe — it’s not trying to be flashy, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about the place. The lobby has this comfortable, lived-in feeling that makes you think they’ve been doing this hospitality thing for a while and actually know what they’re doing. I mean, you can tell right away this isn’t some cookie-cutter chain hotel — there’s character here, and honestly, that’s exactly what you want when you’re staying in Manhattan.
Location Magic
Here’s the thing about the location — it’s absolutely brilliant, and I’m not just saying that because of the 9.6 location score (though couples especially seem to get it). You’re literally steps from Herald Square and Penn Station, which sounds touristy until you realize how incredibly useful that actually is. The Empire State Building is right there when you want that classic New York moment, but you’re also perfectly positioned to duck into Koreatown for some late-night Korean BBQ or grab authentic dim sum. It’s one of those spots where you feel like you’re in the heart of everything without being stuck in the Times Square madness.
The Room Experience
The rooms at this three-star property are what I’d call “smart small” — they’ve clearly thought about how to make the space work without feeling cramped. You know how some New York hotel rooms feel like glorified closets? Well, this isn’t that. The room I stayed in had enough space to actually open your suitcase without doing gymnastics around the bed, and the bathroom was surprisingly functional. The decor is clean and modern without being sterile — they’ve managed to create something that feels both contemporary and comfortable.
Morning Fuel
The continental breakfast setup is pretty straightforward — nothing fancy, but it gets the job done when you want to grab something quick before heading out to explore. They’ve got the basics covered: decent coffee (which, let’s be honest, is crucial), pastries, fruit, and cereals. It’s not going to win any awards, but it’s fresh and convenient, especially when you’re planning a full day of walking around the city. Sometimes you just want to fuel up and go, and this fits that bill perfectly.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes Hotel Stanford work is that it understands its role — it’s your comfortable home base in one of the world’s most energetic cities. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping you navigate New York, and there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on doing the fundamentals really well rather than trying to be something it’s not. You’re paying for location, comfort, and reliability, and that’s exactly what you get. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having this cozy retreat right in the middle of all the urban excitement — you can dive into the city chaos and then come back to somewhere that actually feels like a respite.
New York hotels keep adventurers close to gallery districts, speakeasies, and subway hubs.

Location, perfect if you want to stay in mid town, staff so friendly and complimentary breakfast provided which was also perfect to set you up for the day. We got an upgrade so our room was really nice and big especially for NYC. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone.

Excellent service at the entrance, from the doorman to the receptionist.
Excellent decor hotel, very clean and very comfortable.
We got an extra apartment and we are very satisfied.
The street is right in the center of events, but still quiet for a night's rest. The beds are comfortable, fantastic.
Small complaint about the breakfast, but ok if you consider that it is just the start for a tour through NY and Manhattan.Cathy from United States (9/10)
