It’s actually refreshing to find a five-star hotel in Tribeca that doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard to be cool – though honestly, the French influence is obvious from the moment you hit the lobby. The whole place has this understated elegance that feels more like a sophisticated Parisian apartment than your typical Manhattan hotel, and I mean that in the best way possible.

What really gets me is how they’ve managed to capture that classic Fouquet’s vibe (if you know the original on the Champs-Élysées, you’ll get it) while still feeling distinctly New York. The rooms are seriously well thought out – and I’m talking about practical stuff here, like actually having enough outlets near the bed and bathroom lighting that doesn’t make you look like you’re in a horror movie. The bathrooms are particularly impressive, with these deep soaking tubs that are perfect after spending the day walking around the cobblestone streets of Tribeca. You’ll appreciate that they’ve got proper blackout curtains too, because let’s be honest, Greenwich Street can get a bit noisy with delivery trucks in the early morning.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in New York rather than just visiting it. You’re literally steps from some of the best restaurants in the city – Locanda Verde is right around the corner, and you can walk to the whole Soho shopping scene in about ten minutes. The hotel’s restaurant, Fouquet’s New York, is actually worth staying in for dinner instead of venturing out, which is saying something in this neighborhood. I love that you can grab the 1 train at Franklin Street when you need to head uptown, but most of the time you’ll probably just want to wander around the area. The staff really knows their stuff too – they’ll steer you toward the good stuff without being pushy about it, and they seem to genuinely understand that not everyone wants to hit the same tourist spots. Check-in was smooth, and they actually remembered my name throughout the stay, which sounds small but makes a real difference when you’re dealing with the usual Manhattan hustle.

  Great service. Par ici has a friendly Turkish waiter did t get the name. Spa folks very friendly. Front reception lovely folks. Chatty guy cannot remember the name who greeted us and showed us around. The spa group were very generous gave us macaroons and white wine to celebrate my daughters birthday. Give everyone a raise 😜
