Honestly, the Hilton Times Square is one of those hotels that grows on you. When you first walk in from the chaos of 42nd Street, you’re hit with this massive lobby that’s buzzing with energy – not exactly intimate, but there’s something exciting about being right in the thick of it all. The check-in can be a bit of a zoo during peak hours (I mean, you’re literally steps from the TKTS booth and every tourist in Manhattan), but the staff handles the madness pretty well.

What really sets this place apart is the location – and I don’t just mean “convenient to Times Square.” You’re actually positioned perfectly between the theater district and Hell’s Kitchen, which means you can grab dinner at one of those amazing little spots on 9th Avenue without dealing with the tourist trap restaurants right outside your door. The subway situation is incredible too – Port Authority is right there, plus you’ve got the N, Q, R, W, S, 1, 2, 3, and 7 trains all within a block or two. Late at night, yeah, it gets a bit noisy with the street performers and general Times Square mayhem, but honestly? The windows do a decent job of muffling most of it, and if you’re a light sleeper, just ask for a room facing the interior courtyard.

The rooms themselves are solid – nothing that’ll blow you away, but they’re bigger than a lot of Midtown hotels and the beds are actually comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and modern, though the water pressure can be hit or miss depending on which floor you’re on. What I really appreciate is that they’ve got proper blackout curtains (crucial when you’re surrounded by all those flashing billboards) and the AC works well, which is more than I can say for some places in the city. The fitness center is small but functional, and the business center is handy if you need to print boarding passes or whatever. Look, it’s not the fanciest hotel in the city – that 7.3 rating feels about right – but for the price point and location, it delivers what most travelers actually need. If you’re here to see shows, explore the city, or catch a flight out of one of the airports, you’ll spend most of your time out anyway, so having a clean, comfortable base right in the heart of everything is pretty perfect.

  Stefanie in the reception and Mr Archie were extremely helpful, patient, and accommodating. We had a wonderful stay at Hilton Time Square. The rooms were large for NYC, the views were amazing. We had a few hiccups during the process but everything was handled professionally and quickly

  just grabbed something from the store vs the buffet — but did have a pot of coffee with the to go food from shop. gotta say $21 for a pot, a tad steep.

  Fantastic location a stone’s throw from Times Square. Welcoming and friendly staff throughout. Good sized rooms, comfy beds, warm, decent shower! Concierge stored our bags efficiently. We did not eat at the hotel at all so cannot comment on that.
