Fairfield By Marriott New York Manhattan Times Square Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Fairfield By Marriott New York Manhattan Times Square, you immediately get that “this is actually Manhattan” feeling without the overwhelming chaos. The lobby has a clean, modern vibe that feels refreshingly uncluttered compared to some of the older hotels in the area. What struck me right away was how the staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions — you know how rare that can be in a city where everyone’s always rushing somewhere.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about the location on West 40th Street — it’s in Hell’s Kitchen, which honestly is one of the best-kept secrets for staying in Manhattan. You’re literally a three-minute walk to Times Square when you want that full tourist experience, but you can also escape to the quieter side streets when you need a breather. I mean, couples rate this spot 9.2 out of 10 for good reason. You’ve got the Port Authority right there for easy airport connections, plus all those amazing Hell’s Kitchen restaurants that locals actually eat at, not just the tourist traps.
The Room Experience
The rooms at this four-star property are what I’d call smartly designed rather than flashy. Everything feels purposeful — decent-sized beds with crisp linens, a work area that’s actually usable if you need to get things done, and bathrooms that make efficient use of space without feeling cramped. The windows offer glimpses of the city energy outside, though don’t expect sweeping skyline views at this price point. What you do get is a quiet night’s sleep, which is honestly worth its weight in gold when you’re in Midtown.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
The breakfast setup here is surprisingly well thought out. They offer American classics in a buffet style, but what really works is their breakfast-to-go option — perfect for those mornings when you want to grab something quick and head out to explore. The coffee is actually decent (not always a given at hotel breakfast spots), and there’s enough variety to keep you satisfied whether you’re a light eater or need something more substantial before a day of walking around the city.
Why Guests Love It
What makes Fairfield By Marriott New York Manhattan Times Square work so well is that it strikes this perfect balance between being in the thick of things and maintaining some sanity. You’re not paying premium prices for a location that puts you right in the tourist madness, but you’re also not stuck way out somewhere inconvenient. The 8.2 guest rating reflects what you actually experience — solid, reliable, and well-positioned for exploring Manhattan without any major frustrations. It’s the kind of place where you can focus on enjoying New York instead of dealing with hotel headaches.

Reviews of Fairfield By Marriott New York Manhattan Times Square
Monica from Australia (9/10)
My room had a surprisingly great view! The location was absolutely perfect for everything I wanted to enjoy, in the short time I had in NYC. The breakfast was so cute, I loved it and felt looked after. Staff were all so kind and helpful. When I arrived, I was allowed to use the bathroom to freshen up after my long haul flight from Australia, before leaving my bags at reception so I could make the most of my day before check-in time. Reception can arrange your airport taxi at any time prior to the day you leave, if you already know your flight home; they can also recommend what time you should get it. Would stay here again for sure. Aircon worked well. Space was good. Comfort good. Bathroom good 🙂
