Element Times Square West Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Element Times Square West, you immediately notice how the lobby feels refreshingly modern without trying too hard — there’s this clean, eco-friendly vibe that actually works. The four-star property sits right in Hell’s Kitchen, and honestly, I was surprised by how quiet it felt inside despite being surrounded by all that Midtown energy. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles, not the rehearsed hotel welcome you sometimes get, and check-in was refreshingly quick.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s great about staying on West 39th Street? You’re literally in the sweet spot between Times Square chaos and the more authentic Hell’s Kitchen dining scene. I mean, you can walk to Broadway shows in about five minutes, but you’re also steps away from some incredible local restaurants that tourists never find. The subway access is fantastic — Port Authority is close enough to be useful but far enough that you don’t deal with the constant crowds. Couples seem to really get this location (they rate it super high), and I can see why — there’s something romantic about having both the bright lights and quieter neighborhood streets at your fingertips.
The Room Experience
The rooms here are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy. Everything has this clean, contemporary feel with pops of green that remind you of the hotel’s environmental focus. But honestly, what impressed me most were the beds — they’re genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable. The kitchenette setup is actually useful too, with a proper mini-fridge and microwave that you’ll probably use. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, and the water pressure is solid (always a concern in older NYC buildings, though this one handles it well).
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast situation here is pretty solid — they offer continental, American, and buffet options, so you’re not stuck with just pastries and coffee. I appreciated having actual choices, especially the healthier options that fit with the hotel’s wellness-focused brand. The dining area gets busy during peak morning hours, but there’s usually space if you’re flexible with timing. What I really liked was being able to grab something quick before heading out to explore, or sitting down for a proper meal when I had more time.
Why Guests Love It
Element Times Square West works because it strikes this balance between being in the heart of everything while still feeling like a retreat. You get that prime Manhattan location without paying premium prices, and the hotel’s focus on sustainability and wellness feels genuine rather than just trendy marketing. The combination of truly comfortable beds, smart room design, and that unbeatable Hell’s Kitchen location makes it a solid choice for both first-time visitors and people who know the city well. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town — it’s just doing the important things really well.

FRIENDLY STAFF. Every staff member we encountered were smiling and welcoming. In the lobby there was great guidance and help with the elevators and entering and exiting the facility. Having a kitchenette in our room was a huge plus. We enjoyed the location, and hotel breakfast,
