WestHouse Hotel New York Overview
First Impressions
Walking into WestHouse Hotel New York feels like discovering a well-kept secret in the middle of Manhattan’s chaos. This five-star boutique property sits quietly on West 55th Street, and honestly, you might walk right past it if you’re not looking — which is actually part of its charm. The lobby has this intimate, residential feel that’s refreshingly different from the grand hotel theatrics you’ll find elsewhere in the city. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel like you can breathe, even though you’re literally in the heart of one of the world’s busiest neighborhoods.
Location That Actually Matters
You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re a two-minute walk from Central Park, but you’re also surrounded by some of the city’s best restaurants and theaters. I mean, Carnegie Hall is practically next door, and Times Square is close enough to hit for a show but far enough away that you won’t hear the tourist crowds from your room. The subway connections here are fantastic too — the N, Q, R, and W trains at 57th Street make getting anywhere in the city surprisingly easy. Couples seem to get this location particularly well, which makes sense when you realize how many romantic spots are within walking distance.
The Luxury Experience
The rooms at WestHouse Hotel New York are where this place really shines. Everything feels custom-designed rather than cookie-cutter luxury — the furnishings have this sophisticated European vibe, and the bathrooms are genuinely impressive with their marble finishes and rainfall showers. But here’s what I didn’t expect: the beds are absolutely incredible. I’m talking about the kind of sleep quality that makes you want to ask housekeeping what brand of mattress they’re using. The rooms aren’t huge by luxury hotel standards, but they’re thoughtfully laid out, and the soundproofing is excellent considering you’re in Midtown Manhattan.
Morning Rituals
Breakfast here gives you options without overwhelming you — they’ve got continental, American, and buffet styles depending on what kind of morning you’re having. The American breakfast is solid, though honestly, with this location you’re also surrounded by some of the city’s best coffee shops and breakfast spots if you want to venture out. What I appreciated was that the breakfast space has the same intimate feel as the rest of the hotel, so you’re not eating in some massive, impersonal dining hall.
Why Guests Love It
This hotel works because it strikes that perfect balance between luxury and livability. You get five-star service and amenities, but it doesn’t feel stuffy or pretentious. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work for you, and the size of the property means they can actually remember your preferences. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having this quiet, elegant base in the middle of all the city energy. You can step out into the Manhattan madness whenever you want, but you always have this calm, sophisticated retreat to come back to.
The luxury concierge service in New York secures penthouse tasting menus, backstage jazz sessions, and helicopter links to Hamptons hideaways.

Best location, breakfast very good, best view from our balcony!
Shmuel from Israel (9/10)
The staff was absolutely brilliant- both friendly and extremely helpful. In particular, Mo at the front desk was welcoming and went out of his way to make me feel at home. The rooms are a good size by NYC standards and well-appointed. And the breakfast and happy hour on the 23rd floor at the Terrace was a real treat.
Importantly, many reviews make mention of the elevators/lifts being extremely slow- we didn't have any real issues with this at all.Mary from United States (7/10)
Near Central Park and Times Square. Staff was exceptional. Very kind and knowledgeable. Great dinner recommendations.

Location, breakfast and the hours of indulgence were fabulous!

The location was great. The hotel decor was beautiful, very stylish yet very welcoming at the same time. The bed was super comfy and the little details really elevated the experience. Genius to have a cut away area in the shower glass so that you could turn the water on and only get into the shower when the water was hot enough. I have never seen that before and I have travelled a lot. It made me want one in the showers I have at home! Also as a lone female traveler, I felt 100% safe in my room.

Beds were comfortable and the Terrace breakfast and appetizers in the evening were tasty!

Location was great. Easy walk to Columbus Circle and Metropolitan opera and Central Park and easy walk to Times Square. And subway right next door. Also a fast and pretty walk to all the shops and storefronts on Fifth Avenue. Great access to Macy’s Thanksgiving parade- just a 1-2 block walk down 55th street. Breakfast was great. We did not know there would be a full Thanksgiving dinner- had not been told about included evening food options- wish we had known.
It is very hard to find rooms in NYC that sleep 4 adults so we were pleased with that. Decent price.Diane from New Zealand (7/10)
The hotel is in a great location, close to Central Park, subway station, food, and walking distance to many attractions. The beds were very comfortable, our room was also quiet except for the air con that was a bit noisy but we got used to it.
