The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park Overview

You know what hits you first when you walk into The Ritz-Carlton on Central Park South? It’s not just the marble or the chandeliers – though those are pretty stunning – it’s actually the fact that you can hear the horses from the carriage rides outside mixed with the subtle piano music drifting from the lobby. There’s something almost cinematic about it, especially in the late afternoon when the light filters through those massive windows facing the park.

I mean, the location is basically perfect if you’re the type who wants to be right in the thick of things but still have an escape route. You’re literally across from Central Park (and I mean literally – you step out the front door and boom, there’s the park), but you’re also a quick walk to all the Fifth Avenue shopping and Broadway shows. The Columbus Circle subway stop is right there too, which honestly makes getting around the city way easier than I expected. What I really appreciated was how quiet the rooms stay despite being on one of the busiest streets in Manhattan – those windows are serious business. The park-facing rooms are obviously the prize here, and if you can swing it, totally worth the extra cost. Watching joggers and dog walkers from your window while sipping coffee is oddly therapeutic, especially during fall when the leaves are changing.

The service is… well, it’s Ritz-Carlton, so you kind of expect excellence, but they actually deliver without being stuffy about it. The concierge team really knows their stuff – they got me into a restaurant I’d been trying to book for weeks, and when I mentioned I was looking for a good running route, they mapped out this perfect loop through the park that I never would have found on my own. The club level is worth considering if you’re staying more than a couple nights; the evening hors d’oeuvres are actually substantial enough to skip dinner if you’re not feeling like venturing out. One small thing that surprised me – the elevators are surprisingly fast for such an old building, which matters more than you’d think when you’re running late for a show. The fitness center opens early (like 5 AM early), which was clutch for my schedule, and the spa is tucked away on a higher floor with these incredible city views. Sure, it’s pricey – this is Manhattan luxury after all – but for special occasions or when you want to feel like you’re living in a movie for a few days, it delivers exactly what you’re hoping for.

My recent stay at The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park was an unparalleled experience of luxury, opulence, and elegance. From the moment I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted with a level of service and attention to detail that was truly exceptional.

The location of the hotel, overlooking Central Park, is absolutely breathtaking. The views from my room were nothing short of spectacular, and I found myself mesmerized by the natural beauty of the park every morning and evening.

The room itself was a haven of comfort and sophistication, exquisitely designed with plush furnishings and high-quality amenities. The attention to detail in the decor and the comfort of the bedding made for a truly restful and rejuvenating stay.

The dining options at The Ritz-Carlton were equally impressive. The Michelin-starred restaurant, BLT Market, served delectable dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. The elegant ambiance of the restaurant made each meal a memorable experience.

What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the exceptional service. The staff's dedication to ensuring every guest's comfort and satisfaction was remarkable. They anticipated my needs and went above and beyond to make my stay truly unforgettable.

In summary, The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park is a pinnacle of luxury and sophistication. It offers an unmatched level of service, combined with a stunning location and top-notch accommodations. My stay was nothing short of exceptional, and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking an unforgettable experience in the heart of Manhattan.

  • John from United States (9/10)

Absolutely OUTSTANDING service! Great views, VERY comfortable room, and nice lobby lounge. But it’s the service that makes this a 5/5!!! Surprisingly good-sized room for Manhattan. Drink prices in the lobby bar were a little outrageous.
