The Moore Overview
So I’ve stayed at The Moore a handful of times now, and honestly? It’s become my go-to whenever I need to be in Chelsea for work. The thing that strikes you first isn’t the lobby or anything fancy – it’s just how quiet 22nd Street is compared to the chaos you’d expect in Manhattan. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the High Line, but somehow this little pocket feels almost residential.
The rooms are what I’d call “thoughtfully compact” – and look, I’m not sugarcoating the fact that this is still New York real estate we’re talking about. But the design team actually got it right here. Everything has its place, the lighting doesn’t make you look like a zombie, and the beds are legitimately comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff). What really won me over, though, is the attention to details that most places skip. The outlets are where you actually need them, the bathroom counter has enough space for your stuff, and – this might sound weird – but the hangers are the good kind that don’t fall off the rod every time you breathe on them.
The neighborhood situation is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re experiencing real New York without the Times Square nightmare. You’ve got Chelsea Market five minutes south, which is tourist-heavy during the day but turns into this great food scene in the evenings. The Meatpacking District is right there too, though I’d skip it on weekend nights unless you’re into that whole scene. What I love is that you can walk to the Whitney in about eight minutes, hit the galleries along 23rd Street, or just wander the High Line when it’s not completely packed (early morning or late afternoon, trust me). The staff at The Moore seems to get that most guests are here for the culture, not the party scene – they’re helpful with restaurant recommendations and actually know the area instead of just pointing you toward the obvious spots. Parking is street parking or garage, which is what you’d expect, but the subway access is solid with the 23rd Street stations nearby. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere with personality rather than just another box to sleep in.

Staff were so helpful, especially Anaise who gave us our coffee and pastries in the morning. The hotel is in a really lovely area, beside a tube station, Target across the road. Rooms are very clean and modern. Great view from our room. Spacious shower.

The hotel was modest but had character, and the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. Location was excellent, close to public transport and within walking distance of many amenities. The room was a reasonable size for New York, and the bathroom was well equipped, with a very spacious shower. I loved the free daily token for coffee, pastry & water at the hotel. Right next door there are an excellent restaurant and a fabulous cafe/bar. And just a couple of blocks away, a very convenient pizza place for quick takeaways.

Loved the views from our room – we could see the Empire State Building
Great location. Walking distance to MSG and Times Square, High Line, Hudson Yards, Chelsea, Greenwich & West Village. Great subway access for uptown and downtown
Cosy rooms. Nice furnishings and great shower.
The chips that you can cash in for coffee, pastry and water each morning. A lovely touch
