Location wise, you’re basically in the heart of everything without being right on top of Times Square madness, which is perfect if you ask me. Bryant Park is literally a few blocks away, Grand Central is an easy walk when you need to escape the city, and you’ve got the whole Fifth Avenue shopping thing within striking distance. But here’s what I really appreciate – you can walk to most places during the day, but at night the street actually quiets down enough that you’re not dealing with sirens and honking until 3 AM. The neighborhood has that mix of office buildings and local spots, so you’ll find decent coffee places and lunch counters that aren’t just tourist traps. There’s a little deli around the corner that makes a killer pastrami sandwich, and the hotel staff actually knows about places like that – they’re not just handing you the same glossy restaurant cards everyone else gets. Check-in is usually pretty smooth, though if you’re arriving on a Sunday evening when all the business travelers are rolling in, you might wait a few minutes. Small thing, but the elevators are surprisingly fast for an older building, which matters when you’re on the 15th floor and running late. The whole place just feels like it knows what it’s doing, you know? It’s got that 8.6 rating for good reasons – nothing’s going to blow your mind, but nothing’s going to disappoint you either, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want in New York.

  Conveniently located for visiting downtown Manhattan. Staff professional, courteous & attentive. The doorman was phenomenal, made everyone feel as if their visit was the highlight of his day, very engaging and friendly. Housekeeping responded to requests quickly and efficiently. All staff was professional and welcoming. The male night shift desk personnel shared stories about the hotel, made suggestions of local places to eat, see, etc. Would recommend and stay again.
