Here’s what I love about this spot — you can walk to Steel Pier in about three minutes, and the beach access is right there without having to navigate through casino crowds. The parking situation is actually sorted (they have their own lot), which honestly saves you a headache in this part of town. Couples seem to really get this location — I can see why, since you’re close enough to everything but not drowning in the chaos of the main strip. You know what’s nice? You can grab coffee and walk to the beach before the day gets crazy.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this updated-but-respectful-of-history thing going on — think modern amenities but they didn’t strip away all the character. The windows are decent sized, so you actually get some natural light, and if you’re lucky with your room assignment, you might catch ocean glimpses. The beds are comfortable enough, and the bathrooms have been renovated recently. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works and feels clean.

The restaurant downstairs serves solid American fare — nothing groundbreaking, but the kind of reliable food that hits right after a long day walking the Boardwalk. Breakfast is actually pretty decent here, and they don’t rush you out the door like some places do. I found myself hanging out in the lobby area quite a bit; there’s something comfortable about the space that makes you want to linger with a coffee before heading out for the day.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t the newest or flashiest hotel in Atlantic City, but that’s sort of the point. The Claridge feels like it belongs here — it’s got history without being stuffy, and the location really can’t be beat if you want to experience the classic boardwalk scene. The staff seems to genuinely know the area and can point you toward the good stuff (like which sections of the Boardwalk are worth your time). For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having a home base that’s close to everything but still feels like you can escape the casino madness when you need to. The fact that recent guests keep rating the location so highly tells you something — sometimes the basics done well matter more than all the bells and whistles.
