Residence Inn by Marriott New York Queens Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Residence Inn by Marriott New York Queens, you immediately notice how different it feels from your typical Manhattan hotel experience. This three-star extended-stay property sits quietly in Long Island City, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. The lobby has that clean, modern Marriott feel without being stuffy — you know what I mean? It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax after a day of sightseeing without feeling like you’re disrupting some fancy atmosphere. The welcoming atmosphere and thoughtful design create an inviting space for all guests.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about staying in Long Island City — you’re technically in Queens, but Manhattan is literally right across the river. I mean, you can see the city skyline from here, and it’s pretty spectacular actually. The subway connections are solid (the 7 train is your friend), and you’ll save a decent chunk of money compared to staying in Midtown. Plus, there’s parking available right at the hotel, which is basically like finding gold in this area. If you’re driving into the city, this setup actually makes a lot of sense. The convenient transit access ensures you can explore the entire metropolitan area with ease.

The Room Experience

What sets this place apart is that every room is essentially a studio apartment with a full kitchen. And I’m not talking about some tiny kitchenette — these are proper kitchens with full-size appliances. The living area has a decent-sized couch and workspace, which is perfect if you’re staying for more than a couple nights or traveling with family. The beds are comfortable (standard Marriott quality), and there’s enough space to actually spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. This layout provides exceptional comfort and flexibility for extended stays.

Breakfast & Dining

The complimentary breakfast here is better than you’d expect from a restaurant — it’s a proper American buffet setup with hot items, not just pastries and coffee. They’ve got eggs, bacon, waffles you make yourself, the whole deal. Since you have a kitchen in your room, you can also hit up the nearby grocery stores and cook your own meals, which honestly saves you a fortune when you’re staying in the New York area for several days. This combination of dining options gives you complete flexibility.

Why Guests Love It

This hotel really shines for couples and families who want space to breathe without breaking the bank. The fact that couples rate it so highly tells you something — it’s got that home-away-from-home vibe that makes longer stays actually enjoyable. You’re not cramped into a tiny Manhattan hotel room, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The staff is genuinely helpful (not just going through the motions), and the whole setup just works well for people who want to experience New York without the typical tourist hotel stress. It’s an ideal choice for discerning travelers.

The breakfast was the best part of my stay. There were fairly available options to choose from. My room had a kitchenette. It served my purpose and was helpful since i needed to make meals for my baby. Overall,my experience was food, except for the reception area that was always crowded, and the lines while waiting for the elevators.
