This three-star spot feels like it was designed by someone who actually gets what travelers want — you know, the stuff that matters but doesn’t break the bank. Walking up to the building, you’ll notice it’s got this modern, understated vibe that fits perfectly with the neighborhood’s industrial-meets-artsy character.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying in Long Island City — you’re literally one subway stop from Midtown Manhattan, but you’re not paying Manhattan prices or dealing with the chaos. The hotel sits on 44th Avenue, which puts you walking distance to some seriously good food spots that most tourists never discover. Couples seem to really get this location (they rate it 8.4, which makes sense), probably because you can actually have a conversation on the street without shouting over traffic. The waterfront parks along the East River are maybe a 10-minute walk, and the views of the Manhattan skyline from there? Chef’s kiss.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was clean and thoughtfully laid out — nothing fancy, but everything worked exactly as it should. The beds are comfortable enough that I actually slept well (which, let’s be honest, doesn’t always happen in hotels), and there’s decent space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. What struck me was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, enough outlets where you actually need them, and blackout curtains that do their job.

Getting Around

The subway access here is genuinely excellent, which is probably why recent guests rated the location 8.7. You’ve got the 7 train practically at your doorstep, and it’ll get you to Times Square in about 15 minutes. But honestly, some of my favorite moments were just wandering the neighborhood — there’s this whole creative energy in LIC that you miss if you only stick to Manhattan. Plus, parking is actually manageable if you’re driving, which is more than I can say for most places in the city.

You’re not paying for marble lobbies or doormen in white gloves — you’re paying for a solid place to sleep in a genuinely great location. The staff seems to understand that most guests are here to explore the city, not hang out in the hotel, so they focus on making sure you can get out and about easily. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real New Yorkers might actually live, rather than in some tourist bubble. For the price point and the access to both Queens’ local scene and Manhattan’s attractions, it’s honestly hard to beat.

  Location was great – only a few minutes walk from the subway station which takes you directly into Manhattan, close to take-away pizza and many shops. Good facilities including free Wi-Fi and nice lounge area to relax, charge devices and eat in. Kitchen facilities were also good. Bed very comfortable. Bar downstairs and roof area were both very nice.
