NY Moore Hostel Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to NY Moore Hostel on a tree-lined street in Williamsburg, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical cramped New York accommodation. The three-story building has this understated Brooklyn charm — not trying too hard, but clearly well-maintained. I mean, when you’re paying hostel prices but getting actual space to breathe, that’s already a win in this city. The entrance feels more like stepping into a boutique guesthouse than a budget crash pad, which honestly surprised me given the rates.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about Moore Street — you’re deep enough into Williamsburg to feel like a local, but close enough to the action that nothing’s really off-limits. The L train at Graham Avenue is about a 10-minute walk, which puts you in Manhattan in under 20 minutes. But honestly, you might not want to leave the neighborhood much. There’s this great coffee spot called Ninth Street Espresso just a few blocks away, and the whole area has that perfect mix of dive bars and trendy restaurants that makes Brooklyn so addictive. Couples seem to really get this vibe — I can see why they rate the location so highly for romantic getaways.

The Rooms

The rooms at NY Moore Hostel actually feel like rooms, not glorified closets. Even the shared accommodations have enough space that you’re not bumping into your bunkmate every time you move. The private rooms — well, they’re small by suburban standards but generous for New York, especially at this price point. Everything’s clean and functional, with decent Wi-Fi and enough outlets for all your devices. The beds are surprisingly comfortable too, which matters more than you’d think after a long day exploring the city.

Practical Perks

You know what’s almost impossible to find in New York? Free parking. But somehow this three-star place managed to swing it, which is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving in from out of town. The common areas are well-designed too — there’s actually space to hang out without feeling like you’re in someone’s way. The kitchen facilities are clean and well-stocked, which is clutch when you want to save money on meals or just need your morning coffee exactly how you like it.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it gets the balance right — affordable without feeling cheap, social without being chaotic. The location consistently gets high marks from recent guests, and I can see why. You’re in one of Brooklyn’s most vibrant neighborhoods, but on a quiet residential street where you can actually get some sleep. It’s the kind of spot where you end up staying longer than planned because it just feels right. For the price point and the neighborhood, NY Moore Hostel delivers exactly what most travelers actually want — a clean, comfortable base in a great area where you can focus on enjoying the city instead of worrying about your accommodation.
