The rooms aren’t massive (this is Manhattan, after all), but they’re thoughtfully laid out. Actually decent water pressure in the shower, which you’d be amazed how many places get wrong. The beds are properly comfortable, not just piled high with decorative pillows that you have to move every night. And the walls are thick enough that I wasn’t listening to my neighbor’s phone calls at 6 AM, which honestly makes it worth every penny in this city. The restaurant downstairs serves decent food without the markup you’d expect, and the bar has that dark wood, leather chair vibe where you can actually have a conversation. During Fashion Week it gets busier (you’ll see the industry crowd in the lobby), but most of the year it maintains this nice balance of energy without feeling frantic.

The concierge team deserves a mention too – they gave me restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the obvious expensive places, and when I needed to extend my stay last minute, they handled it without making me feel like I was asking for a kidney. That’s the kind of service that makes you want to come back. Plus, if you’re traveling for work, the WiFi doesn’t drop every five minutes and there are enough outlets in the room that you won’t be choosing between charging your phone and your laptop.
