Little Charlie Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Little Charlie Hotel, you immediately notice how they’ve managed to create something intimate in the middle of Manhattan’s bustle. The lobby feels more like a stylish friend’s apartment than a typical hotel — there’s this warm, residential vibe that’s honestly refreshing after dealing with the chaos of Midtown East. You know what strikes me most? The scale of everything feels just right, not trying too hard to impress but clearly thoughtful in every detail.
Location & Neighborhood
This four-star gem sits right on 2nd Avenue, and I mean right in the thick of things without being overwhelming. You’re basically a few blocks from Grand Central, which makes getting anywhere in the city ridiculously easy. The neighborhood has this great mix — you’ve got your classic New York delis and corner spots, but also some really solid restaurants that locals actually frequent. Couples seem to get this location particularly well (they rate it 9.2, and honestly, I can see why) because you can walk to so many date-worthy places without feeling like tourists.
The Room Experience
The rooms at Little Charlie Hotel are what I’d call “smart small” — they’ve clearly thought about how to make every square foot work without feeling cramped. The design leans modern but not cold, with these nice touches that show someone actually considered what travelers need. The windows give you real glimpses of New York street life, which I actually prefer to those generic skyline views you get at bigger hotels. Storage is better than you’d expect, and the bathroom setup works well even when you’re sharing the space.
Breakfast & Dining
They do both continental and buffet breakfast options, which gives you flexibility depending on your morning mood — or how late you stayed out the night before. The continental setup is solid for grab-and-go situations (and let’s be honest, that’s often what you need in New York), while the buffet has enough variety to fuel a proper day of city exploration. I appreciate that they don’t try to be fancy here, just good quality basics done well.
Why Guests Love It
What really works about this place is how it feels like a genuine New York experience rather than a sanitized hotel version of the city. The location score of 9.2 isn’t just about convenience — though you’ll definitely appreciate being able to walk to Grand Central or catch a cab easily from 2nd Avenue. It’s more about being in a real neighborhood where you can grab coffee from an actual local spot or duck into a bodega when you need something. The hotel manages to be polished and comfortable without losing that authentic New York energy that makes staying here feel like you’re actually part of the city, not just visiting it.

Reviews of Little Charlie Hotel
Gabriela from United States (9/10)
Everything about our stay was perfect! The staff were so friendly and accommodating (our room was ready for early check in and they even gave us extra free water), the rooms are complete with everything you could need and are SO cozy, clean, modern, and chic, the rooftop is so cool and really well set up for a cozy place to hang out…and to top it off, the whole place smells fantastic. Really sweet breakfast spread, easy check-in and check out, and PERFECT location to get anywhere in the city! Definitely worth the price for an epic stay in the heart of NYC.

Little Charlie is in a great location, within walking distance of attractions and transport links. Bed was super comfy and the towels were so fluffy. Both staff members on reception were welcoming and friendly. Room size was small but more than adequate if you are a solo traveller or planning on spending majority of the time out. The hotel is decorated to a modern standard and is fresh and clean. Breakfast was a selection of muffins and pastries, enough to grab and go on the way out in the morning.

Joe from United States (8/10)
It was a one-night quick in and out, and it was perfectly serviceable in all respects. The room was small but cleverly well appointed; the bathroom was sufficient; the HVAC system worked great.

The rooms are small, obv. The noise from the street was a bit loud, but I guess that's Second Ave. Great coffee. Nice to have something to eat in am. Great Value.
