Hyatt House Jersey City Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hyatt House Jersey City, you immediately get that “this is going to work out well” feeling. The lobby has this modern, clean vibe without being sterile — honestly, it feels more like a really nice apartment building than a typical hotel. What struck me right away was how the staff actually seemed to know what they were doing, which isn’t always a given at extended-stay places. The four-star rating makes sense here; it’s polished without trying too hard to impress you.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about Exchange Place — you’re literally right across the Hudson from Manhattan, and I mean literally. The PATH train is practically at your doorstep, so you can be in the Financial District in about five minutes. Jersey City has really come into its own in recent years, and this spot puts you in the thick of the waterfront renaissance. Those couples giving the location a 9.3 rating? They know what they’re talking about. You get killer views of the Manhattan skyline without paying Manhattan prices, plus there’s actual parking here, which is basically a miracle in this area.
The Room Experience
The room setup is where this place really shines — these aren’t just hotel rooms, they’re proper suites with separate living areas. Each unit comes with a full kitchen, and I’m talking real appliances, not those sad mini-fridges you usually get. The beds are comfortable (though not life-changing), and there’s enough space to actually spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase. The windows are huge, so if you score a Manhattan-facing unit, you’ll spend way too much time just staring at the view.
Breakfast and Dining
The breakfast situation is actually pretty solid — they do this continental-American-buffet hybrid that covers most bases. You’ve got your standard hotel breakfast items, but also some decent hot options that don’t taste like they’ve been sitting under heat lamps since dawn. What I really appreciated was that it runs late enough for normal humans who don’t wake up at 6 AM on vacation. Since you have that full kitchen in your suite, you’re not stuck eating every meal out, which your wallet will definitely appreciate.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but it gets the fundamentals right in a way that matters for real travelers. The location score of 9.4 isn’t just marketing fluff — you really can walk to great restaurants, hop on transit to anywhere in the metro area, and still have a quiet place to come back to. The extended-stay format works whether you’re here for three days or three weeks, and the staff seems to understand that people staying here actually want to feel somewhat normal, not like they’re camping out in a hotel room. It’s the kind of place that just works, you know?
New York’s apartments welcome families with play lofts, stroller storage, and easy subway rides to museums.

Reviews of Hyatt House Jersey City
Karl from Austria (9/10)
For us, this accommodation is a 10 because we have been there several times and there are good reasons for us to go back to this accommodation. One of the best reasons for us is that we have the view of the southern tip of Manhattan every morning at breakfast and in the evening when we come "home" again and every view every day every night is different and we have already photographed this view 1000 times. Sometimes we sit on the pier for hours or simply enjoy the view from our accommodation. And if we look to the right, there's the Statue of Liberty, all very close. You can't buy time, so you should enjoy it in a particularly valuable way and for us this accommodation and area is a place where we can do that particularly well. We will be back soon.

Directly in front of Path train entrance. Fantastic breakfast with amazing view of the City. Fast room service. Reasonably priced. Beds and pillows were comfy. Very clean. There is a small park directly in front of the hotel which was perfect for our needs that day.
