Holiday Inn Express Manhattan Midtown West, an IHG Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Holiday Inn Express Manhattan Midtown West, an IHG Hotel feels like finding exactly what you didn’t know you were looking for in New York. This three-star property sits right in Hell’s Kitchen on West 48th Street, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The lobby has that clean, modern Holiday Inn Express vibe — nothing fancy, but everything works perfectly. You know what I mean? Sometimes you just want a place that does the basics really well without any pretense.
The Hell’s Kitchen Advantage
Here’s the thing about this spot — you’re actually in one of Manhattan’s most exciting neighborhoods without paying those insane Times Square hotel prices. Hell’s Kitchen has become this incredible food scene, and you’re literally walking distance from some of the city’s best restaurants. I mean, you can grab authentic Thai food, hit up a trendy cocktail bar, or find a classic New York deli all within a few blocks. The Theater District is right there too, so if you’re catching a Broadway show, you’ll be back in your room in minutes instead of fighting subway crowds.
Sleep Quality That Actually Matters
Let me tell you about the beds — they’re genuinely comfortable, and that’s not just hotel marketing speak. After walking around Manhattan all day (which, let’s be honest, means your feet are killing you), you’ll appreciate sinking into a bed that actually supports you properly. The rooms are clean and functional, with everything you need but nothing you don’t. There’s decent space to spread out your stuff, and the bathrooms are modern enough that you won’t feel like you’re roughing it.
Morning Fuel
The breakfast situation here is solid — they do an American buffet that hits all the right notes. Fresh coffee, eggs, bacon, pastries, and fruit that doesn’t look like it’s been sitting there since yesterday. It’s not going to win any culinary awards, but it’ll definitely fuel you up for a day of exploring the city. Plus, eating at the hotel means you’re not wandering around at 7 AM trying to find somewhere decent that’s actually open.
Why Guests Love It
Couples especially seem to get what this place is about — they consistently rate the location highly, and I totally understand why. You’re close enough to all the action but far enough from the tourist chaos to actually get some rest. The staff knows their stuff about the neighborhood too, so they can point you toward the good spots that aren’t overrun with tour groups. For the price point, you’re getting reliable comfort in a neighborhood that feels authentically New York rather than like a theme park version of the city. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Angelita from Qatar (7/10)
First of all, thank you for the entire service team. They are all amazing. Everyone at the reception is accommodating. Sonia was very helpful. She helped us checked in early which was highly appreciated since we came early from a 14 hr flight. The cleaning staff are amazing, they changed our towels and clean the room every single day even we did not request for it. The breakfast is nice too. They even prepared pack snacks for us since we have to leave early morning and cant wait for the breakfast. The 24/7 coffe station/microwave facilities at the cafeteria is so helpful too👍 The location of the place is perfect. A good diatance walk to time square and subway. All in all, we are happy that we chose this hotel. If given the chance to visit again, will definitely come back here. Keep it up team!

Amazing location! It feels tucked away from the chaos of Times Square but close enough that you won’t miss a thing! The staff were extremely pleasant and easy to deal with! Complementary breakfast is a nice addition.
Ellen from United States (7/10)
Very good location and reasonable price compared to similar hotels in the area. The hotel is dated and needs to be refreshed however the staff was lovely, beds were comfortable and breakfast was abundant. All we really needed after long days exploring the city.
Rgm22 from United States (8/10)
Friendly staff, clean, comfortable beds, good breakfast. A few blocks (10 mins' walk) from the Gershwin and the Metro.
Irfaan from Kenya (6/10)
Everything was alright, including rooms and all. 2 areas where it requires attention is the reception area, it at least 2 people should be available at the desk at peak hours at least. There's a lot of wait time.
Second, the breakfast area needs more sitting. I understand the area itself is small, however, finding a seat for my 3 days stay was a great task!.Tamara from Chile (7/10)
Location was great, just a few blocks from Times Square, Rockefeller center and subways stations. Room was ok, nice view to the city light at night. Breakfast was ok, I wasnt expecting a super breakfast so actually it had more than I thought.
