There’s this little Korean spot on 32nd Street that locals actually go to, and you can hit up the proper part of Koreatown without dealing with Times Square crowds. Plus, you’re close enough to Penn Station that you don’t need to stress about catching trains, but far enough that you’re not dealing with that particular brand of commuter chaos every time you step outside. The 6 train at 33rd Street is right there too, so getting around the city is actually pretty straightforward. I stayed here during a particularly busy week in October, and while the neighborhood definitely gets crowded during business hours, it settles down nicely in the evenings. The front desk folks were helpful with restaurant recommendations too – they clearly knew the area beyond just the obvious tourist spots.   This hotel is always a good option for those who are going to spend a few days in NY. The location is very close to Macy's, Madison Square Garden, and Times Square. You can do most of the sightseeing on foot and the subway is right next door, which is a great help. The breakfast is good, considering New York standards. The room was a reasonable size and everything worked.
