You’re walking distance to Bryant Park, the main library, and about a dozen solid restaurants that locals actually eat at. The 4-train at Grand Central gets you downtown in minutes, and the shuttle to Times Square is right there if you absolutely must do the tourist thing. I’ve stayed here twice now – once in summer when it was sweltering outside but perfectly comfortable inside, and once during a February cold snap when I was grateful to be so close to the subway. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it delivers exactly what it promises with zero drama.

  We really enjoyed our stay! Lovely clean hotel with very comfortable super king size bed. Great having a table in the room, so we could sit at it to eat. Used the coffee station on the top floor which was great. Staff were all lovely and so helpful.
