Cambria Hotel West Orange Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Cambria Hotel West Orange, you immediately notice how fresh and modern everything feels — this isn’t your typical chain hotel experience. The lobby has this sleek, contemporary vibe that somehow manages to feel welcoming rather than sterile. I mean, you can tell they’ve put real thought into the design here, and it shows in those little details that make you think “okay, this place gets it.” The attention to detail extends throughout the property, creating an atmosphere that feels both upscale and approachable.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about West Orange — you’re close enough to Manhattan that it doesn’t feel like you’re stuck in the suburbs, but far enough out that you can actually breathe and find parking without losing your mind. The hotel sits right off major routes, so getting into the city is honestly pretty straightforward. What really surprised me though is how much couples seem to love staying here — apparently they rate the location super highly, and I get it. There’s something nice about having that suburban quiet after a day of city chaos. The accessibility to both urban attractions and peaceful retreats makes this location particularly appealing.
The Room Experience
The room itself feels more spacious than you’d expect from a four-star property. Everything’s clean and well-maintained, with those little touches that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The beds are comfortable — not life-changing, but definitely solid — and the bathrooms are modern without being overly fancy. You know what I appreciated? The blackout curtains actually work, which is rarer than it should be. Modern amenities blend seamlessly with thoughtful design choices throughout.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast situation here is pretty solid — they do American classics well, and honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what you want. No pretentious fusion nonsense, just good coffee and food that’ll get your day started right. The restaurant area has this relaxed atmosphere where you can actually sit and enjoy your meal instead of feeling rushed through some assembly line setup. The culinary team clearly understands that quality matters more than complexity.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is that recent guests consistently rate it highly — and I think it’s because the Cambria brand has figured out how to do modern hospitality without losing the human touch. The staff seems genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, and the whole property feels well-run without being uptight about it. It’s the kind of place where business travelers feel comfortable but families don’t feel out of place either. Plus, let’s be real — free parking in this area is nothing to sneeze at. This balance of professionalism and warmth creates a welcoming environment for all guests.
To book a hotel in New York during holiday windows, visitors plan ahead to balance Fifth Avenue strolls with Rockefeller tree views.

The decor of the dining was wonderful with cloth napkins and real glasses.
Nagina from United States (8/10)
The room was overall clean, but upon entering the room, it was a puny, smelly smell, and their air filters were filthy dirty. I have a picture to prove it.
Alex from United States (7/10)
It was a comfortable hotel and easy to sleep in. The location is good if you have a car and want to go to montclair as it is only 10-20 minutes away. It is also near a strip mall with a few places to eat and drink.

Antavia from United States (9/10)
I didn't receive breakfast. I'm sure it would've been amazing. I saw the set up for the bar but I didn't see anyone working there during my stay. In their defense, I checked in late my first night, was out early that morning, and didn't come back until midnight that next night.
