The Room Experience

My room was exactly what you’d expect from a brand-new property — everything worked, the Wi-Fi was solid, and the bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with it all night. The bathrooms are modern and clean, which sounds basic but you know how hit-or-miss that can be in New York. The windows actually open, which is a small miracle in hotel land, and you get some decent views of the neighborhood. Nothing fancy, but everything you need is there and it all feels fresh.

What struck me most was how this area feels like real New York — not the sanitized version you get in Midtown. There are actual bodegas on the corners, people walking their dogs, kids playing in the parks. You’re close enough to Yankee Stadium that you can feel the energy when there’s a game, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with crowds unless you want to. The restaurant scene around here is honestly underrated — lots of authentic spots that haven’t been discovered by food bloggers yet.
