Knights Inn Brooklyn Sunset Park Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Knights Inn Brooklyn Sunset Park, you’ll notice it’s not trying to be something it isn’t — and honestly, that’s refreshing. This three-star property on 39th Street has a straightforward, no-nonsense vibe that actually works in its favor. The building sits in a quiet residential stretch of Brooklyn, away from the tourist crowds but still connected to everything you’d want to see.

The Neighborhood Reality

Sunset Park is one of those Brooklyn neighborhoods that locals love but visitors often overlook — which means you get authentic New York without the Manhattan price tag. You’re about a 15-minute walk to the actual Sunset Park (the green space, not just the neighborhood), where you can catch some of the best skyline views in the city. The area has this great mix of Latin American markets, dim sum spots, and corner delis that’ll give you a real taste of how Brooklynites actually live. I mean, you won’t find many hotels here, so you’re getting a genuinely local experience. The neighborhood truly captures the essence of what makes Brooklyn special to residents and adventurous travelers alike.

What Your Room Delivers

The room setup is pretty standard but clean and functional — think of it as your reliable base camp rather than a destination in itself. You’ll get the basics covered: decent bed, working AC, and enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The bathrooms are small but well-maintained, and honestly, when you’re spending most of your time exploring the city, that’s really all you need. What surprised me was how quiet it stays at night, considering you’re still in Brooklyn.

Getting Around

Here’s where the location actually shines — the 36th Street subway station (D, N, R lines) is about a 10-minute walk, putting you in Manhattan in roughly 30 minutes. There’s also decent parking if you’re driving, which is honestly a minor miracle in this part of Brooklyn. The neighborhood feels safe to walk around, even in the evening, and you’ll find plenty of late-night food options within a few blocks. Public transportation access makes exploring the entire city incredibly convenient.

Why Guests Keep Coming Back

You know what’s interesting? This place has way more repeat visitors than most hotels I’ve stayed at, and after spending time here, I get it. It’s not about fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies — it’s about getting solid value in a real New York neighborhood. Couples seem to particularly appreciate the quieter setting while still being connected to the action. The staff remembers returning guests, which creates this unexpectedly personal touch you don’t usually find at chain properties. If you’re looking for authentic Brooklyn vibes without breaking the bank, and you don’t need a concierge or room service, this spot delivers exactly what it promises.

The property is located close to the D subway so you can get where you need to from there. They do have limited parking spaces, max 4 inside their little parking garage but it was secluded so no one was going to get into your vehicle. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The room was small, but it was very nice.
