NY Moore Hostel Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to NY Moore Hostel on Moore Street, you immediately get that authentic Brooklyn vibe — this isn’t some sanitized tourist bubble. The three-star hostel sits right in the heart of Williamsburg, and honestly, the neighborhood energy is half the reason to stay here. You know what struck me most? How the place manages to feel both budget-friendly and genuinely welcoming without trying too hard to be trendy.

The Williamsburg Advantage

This part of Brooklyn is where locals actually hang out, not just where they pose for Instagram. You’re walking distance from some seriously good coffee shops and hole-in-the-wall eateries that most Manhattan tourists never discover. The L train is close enough that getting into the city is straightforward, but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant subway noise. Couples seem to really dig the area — I mean, there’s something romantic about strolling these tree-lined streets in the evening, especially when you’re not paying Manhattan hotel prices.

Your Space

The room setup is exactly what you’d expect from a well-run hostel — clean, functional, and surprisingly quiet given the urban location. I was actually impressed by how much natural light filters in during the day. The beds are comfortable enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you wrestled with a pretzel, and there’s decent storage space for your stuff. It’s not fancy, but everything works properly, which honestly matters more than fancy when you’re trying to save money for exploring the city.

Practical Perks

Here’s something that’ll save you both money and headaches — they offer parking for free, which is basically unheard of in this part of Brooklyn. If you’re driving into the city (brave soul), this alone probably saves you $30-40 a night compared to street parking or garages. The hostel also has a communal kitchen where you can actually cook decent meals instead of eating takeout for every meal. There’s a restaurant scene in the neighborhood that’s worth exploring, but having the option to make breakfast or late-night snacks is clutch.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is the balance — you get that authentic New York experience without the Manhattan price tag or the sketchy hostel horror stories. The staff actually knows the neighborhood and can point you toward the good stuff, not just the tourist traps. Plus, staying in Williamsburg means you’re experiencing a side of the city that feels more like real life and less like a movie set. The 8.2 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just a solid, clean place to crash while you explore one of the coolest neighborhoods in the city.
