Hyatt House Jersey City Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hyatt House Jersey City, you’re immediately struck by how the lobby feels more like a modern apartment building than a traditional hotel — and I mean that in the best way possible. The four-star property sits right at 1 Exchange Place, which honestly couldn’t be better positioned if you tried. There’s this sleek, residential vibe that makes you feel settled before you’ve even checked in, and the staff genuinely seems happy to see you rather than just going through the motions.
The Manhattan View Everyone Talks About
Here’s what nobody really prepares you for — the views from this place are absolutely ridiculous. You’re literally staring across the Hudson at the Manhattan skyline, and it never gets old. I mean, you can see the Freedom Tower and the whole Financial District spread out like a postcard, except it’s real and it’s right there. The waterfront location means you’re getting those million-dollar views without the Manhattan price tag, which feels like you’re getting away with something. Even if you don’t get a river-facing room, the neighborhood itself is pretty stunning to walk around.
The Suite Life
What sets Hyatt House Jersey City apart is that most rooms are actually suites with full kitchens — not those sad little kitchenettes with a mini-fridge and microwave. We’re talking full-size appliances, granite countertops, and enough space to actually cook if you want to. The living areas are separate from the sleeping space, so it feels like you’re staying in a nice apartment rather than cramped into a hotel room. The beds are comfortable (though not life-changing), and there’s plenty of storage space, which you don’t always get even at nicer places.
Getting Around and Neighborhood Perks
The PATH train is basically at your doorstep, which means you can be in Manhattan in about ten minutes — honestly, some New Yorkers have longer commutes than that. But here’s the thing I didn’t expect: Jersey City itself has become pretty great to explore. There are solid restaurants within walking distance, and the waterfront promenade is perfect for morning runs or evening strolls. You know what’s nice? You can grab groceries at the nearby shops and actually use that kitchen, or just enjoy having space to spread out after a day of sightseeing.
Why Guests Love It
This place has earned its 8.1 rating because it delivers on the things that actually matter to travelers. Couples especially seem to love it here — probably because you get that romantic skyline view plus enough space to not feel like you’re living on top of each other. The combination of Manhattan accessibility with New Jersey practicality just works. You’re paying less than you would for comparable space across the river, but you’re not sacrificing quality or convenience. It’s one of those places where the location really is as good as everyone says, and the property itself doesn’t let the setting down.
New York’s apartments welcome families with play lofts, stroller storage, and easy subway rides to museums.

Reviews of Hyatt House Jersey City
Karl from Austria (9/10)
For us, this accommodation is a 10 because we have been there several times and there are good reasons for us to go back to this accommodation. One of the best reasons for us is that we have the view of the southern tip of Manhattan every morning at breakfast and in the evening when we come "home" again and every view every day every night is different and we have already photographed this view 1000 times. Sometimes we sit on the pier for hours or simply enjoy the view from our accommodation. And if we look to the right, there's the Statue of Liberty, all very close. You can't buy time, so you should enjoy it in a particularly valuable way and for us this accommodation and area is a place where we can do that particularly well. We will be back soon.

Directly in front of Path train entrance. Fantastic breakfast with amazing view of the City. Fast room service. Reasonably priced. Beds and pillows were comfy. Very clean. There is a small park directly in front of the hotel which was perfect for our needs that day.
