The High Line is literally a few blocks away, and you know what? You can walk to the Meatpacking District, Greenwich Village, or Midtown without breaking a sweat. Plus, being on 23rd Street means you’ve got subway access that’ll get you anywhere in the city. The three-star rating might seem modest, but the location score speaks for itself.

The Room Experience

The rooms are clean and functional — nothing fancy, but they’ve got everything you actually need. Each room is compact (this is Manhattan, after all), but the layout feels thoughtful rather than cramped. The beds are comfortable enough, and the bathrooms are updated without being flashy. What I appreciated most was how quiet it stays despite being on a busy street — the windows do their job well. The furnishings are modern and well-maintained throughout.

Neighborhood Character

Chelsea has this great energy that changes throughout the day, and staying here puts you right in the middle of it all. Morning coffee runs take you past art galleries and design studios, while evenings bring out the dinner crowd heading to some seriously good restaurants. The area feels safe and walkable — I saw plenty of locals out with their dogs or heading to the nearby parks. You’re also close enough to the action but far enough from Times Square chaos, which honestly feels like the sweet spot for experiencing real New York.

Look, Leo House isn’t going to wow you with amenities or over-the-top service, but it delivers on what matters most — a solid base in one of the city’s best neighborhoods. The staff keeps things running smoothly without being intrusive, and the whole place has this relaxed vibe that’s hard to find in Midtown hotels. For the price point and location, it’s actually a pretty smart choice, especially if you plan to spend most of your time exploring the city rather than hanging around the hotel.   PI really liked the hotel, the room was adequate for my needs and I received it clean and tidy. The private bathroom looks great and you can tell it has been renovated. The facilities are good too and the breakfast is nice. The hotel is close to everything.

  The location was great – half a block from the C and E train lines. While check-in isn’t until 4pm they have a business center where I sat and used my laptop.

  You cannot beat Leo House for location. They supply earplugs but I found quieter than many other places I have stayed. The breakfast is excellent. Generous with toiletries too.. it's value for money in Manhatton.

  Budget friendly accommodation in a very convenient location. If you walk out of the 23rd Street Station you will almost see it immediately. Close enough to Moynihan Train hall for onward travel.
  Without being overly friendly, the staff are calm, respectful, professional and accommodating.
  The Breakfast experience turned out to be a delight – I randomly got chatting to other residents and had a great time talking about our travels over breakfast.
