The rooms are what you’d expect for a solid 3-star in Manhattan – clean, comfortable beds, and here’s the thing that matters: the windows actually block out most of the street noise. Trust me, that’s not a given in this part of the city. The air conditioning works properly too, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places mess that up.

What really sells this location is how connected you are without being overwhelmed. Penn Station is maybe a 10-minute walk when you need to catch a train, Madison Square Garden is right there if you’re seeing a show, and you can easily walk to Herald Square or hit up the shops around Broadway. But – and this is key – you can also just wander around NoMad and find yourself in front of the Flatiron Building or browsing the vendors at the weekend farmers market near Madison Square Park. The subway access is solid too; you’ve got multiple lines within a few blocks, so getting to other parts of the city doesn’t require any complicated planning. I stayed here during a pretty busy week in October, and while the elevators got a bit slow during morning rush, it wasn’t the end of the world. The whole experience just felt… practical, I guess? Like someone designed it for people who actually need to get things done in the city, not just take Instagram photos. For the price point and that 8.5 rating, it makes sense – you’re getting exactly what you need without paying for a bunch of extras you probably won’t use anyway.

  Room was on the small side for 3 adults plus luggage but very clean with daily housekeeping including a towel change. Beds very comfortable. Staff all very helpful & friendly. Loved the location & would definitely stay here again.

  Great location, right near the Empire State Building. Incredible to get out of the hotel and see that building right over there. Clean Hotel, sympathetic staff.

  Well located for sightseeing, close to lots of activities and places to eat and drink.
  We had two rooms, a twin and a king. The twin was much larger with two big double beds, more space, closets and bigger bathroom. The king was smaller but enough for two!
