Radio City Apartments Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Radio City Apartments? It’s actually tucked into this perfect pocket of Midtown where you can walk to literally everything, but somehow the street doesn’t feel like total chaos. I mean, you’re right there on 49th between 6th and 7th – honestly, I kept expecting it to be noisier than it was. The building itself has this understated thing going on, sort of blends into the block in a good way, not trying too hard to be flashy like some of the newer places around here.
The apartment setup is what really makes sense for New York – you get actual space to spread out, which if you’ve ever stayed in a typical Manhattan hotel room, you know is basically a miracle. I loved having a proper kitchenette because let’s be real, eating out for every single meal gets expensive fast, and sometimes you just want to grab groceries from the Whole Foods on 57th and make coffee without putting on pants. The beds were surprisingly comfortable too, and the windows actually open (rare these days) which was great for those spring evenings when the city starts to smell less like exhaust and more like… well, still exhaust, but pleasant exhaust. What impressed me most was how clean everything felt – I mean, this isn’t brand new construction, but whoever manages the place clearly cares about the details.
Location-wise, you really can’t do much better unless you want to blow your budget on something fancy. Radio City Music Hall is literally around the corner, which is fun for photos but also means you know exactly where you are when you’re stumbling back from wherever at night. The subway situation is perfect – 47-50th Street station is right there, plus you can walk to Times Square if you’re feeling touristy (though honestly, locals mostly avoid it unless they’re showing visitors around). I actually ended up walking to Central Park a bunch because it’s only about ten blocks north, and Bryant Park is even closer if you want somewhere to sit with a book. The neighborhood has that mix of office workers during the day and theater people at night, so there’s always something happening but it doesn’t feel overwhelming. One thing I’d mention – if you’re here during busy theater season, book early because these apartments fill up with people who know the secret that staying here beats paying twice as much for half the space at the big chain hotels nearby.

Excellent central location. Felt very safe as there were always 2 gentlemen on reception and someone to help with luggage when necessary. All staff we met couldn't be more helpful and the apartment was spacious with every comfort possible.
