Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be straight with you about The Belvedere – it’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. You’re right in the thick of Hell’s Kitchen on 48th Street, which means you’re about a three-minute walk from all the Times Square madness but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night. I mean, you’ll still hear the occasional siren (it’s New York, come on), but it’s not like staying directly on Broadway where the tourist chaos never stops. The building itself has this old-school New York feel – not fancy, but solid, you know? When you walk in, it feels like a real hotel where actual people stay, not some Instagram set.

What I really appreciate about this place is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’ve got Ninth Avenue literally around the corner, which is where all the good food happens – I’m talking about those little Thai places and the pizza joints that locals actually go to, not the tourist traps closer to the theater district. Port Authority is walkable if you need it (though let’s be honest, nobody loves Port Authority), and you can grab the subway at 50th Street without fighting through crowds of people taking selfies. The rooms are… well, they’re New York hotel rooms, so don’t expect a palace, but they’re clean and the AC works, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed in the city. The staff actually seems to know what they’re doing too – check-in was quick, and when I had a question about getting to Brooklyn, the front desk guy gave me actual useful directions instead of just shrugging.

Here’s the thing though – this is a solid 3-star place that knows exactly what it is. You’re not getting a rooftop bar or some fancy spa, but you’re also not paying those ridiculous Manhattan hotel prices that make you question your life choices. It’s perfect for people who want to spend their time exploring the city instead of hanging around their hotel room. The location alone makes it worth considering – you can walk to most of the Midtown stuff people come to see, but you can also wander over to the High Line or catch a show without needing to plan your whole day around subway transfers. If you’re looking for luxury, keep looking. But if you want a decent place to crash that won’t drain your bank account and puts you right where you want to be, The Belvedere gets the job done. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need in a city that never stops moving.

  • Philip from United States (7/10)

    Location near broadway theaters.

  • Yifan from United States (7/10)

Location is excellent – right next to Hell’s kitchen( all the restaurants) walk distance to Time Square, and other major train stations. It is relatively quiet since it’s a couple of blocks away from the center. Decoration is very Italian feeling on the street (barely can tell it’s a hotel more like a residential building, great!) Responsive concierge.

  • Ram from India (8/10)

good location, in the middle of all the action, yet sufficiently quiet. Lots of good restaurants near by, good staff.

  • Lisa from United States (7/10)

The location was excellent and the room was large compared to many others we looked at (although the bathroom was small).
