You’re literally a two-minute walk from Katz’s Delicatessen (yes, that Katz’s), and the whole Essex Street Market scene is right there when you want to grab actual good food instead of hotel room service. The staff seems to get that people staying here want the real New York experience – they’ll point you toward the good dim sum spots on East Broadway or tell you which nights to hit up the speakeasies tucked away in these old tenement buildings. The rooms are pretty straightforward, nothing fancy, but they’re clean and the beds are comfortable enough after you’ve been walking around the city all day. I mean, you’re not staying here for the thread count anyway, right?

Here’s the thing though – this is the Lower East Side, so it can get a bit lively at night, especially on weekends. If you’re the type who needs absolute silence to sleep, maybe pack some earplugs. But honestly, the energy is part of what makes staying down here fun. You’ll hear people heading out to bars, maybe some music drifting up from street level, and it all just feels very… New York. The subway situation is actually pretty convenient too – you’ve got the F train at East Broadway and the B/D at Grand Street, so getting uptown to do your Times Square tourist thing (no judgment) is totally manageable. Check-in was smooth when I was there, and the front desk people seem to know their stuff about the neighborhood. The 7.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers on what it promises, and for a 3-star place in Manhattan, that’s honestly more than you can say about a lot of hotels. If you want to experience New York beyond the obvious spots and you don’t need a concierge in white gloves, this place gets the job done.

  Great location in terms of public transportation access; close to two major bus lines and the F subway. Great view of Manhattan Bridge outside the hotel. Very close to great food in Chinatown. Spacious room, spacious bathroom. I liked that there was a tub.

  Comfortable room. Wonderful maintenance staff. Very good location (very close to the subway and there is a bus stop in front). We didn't feel unsafe arriving at night. The view of the Manhattan Bridge from the hotel terrace is beautiful.

  Located near Chinatown and a subway station, which takes about 20 minutes to reach Midtown. The Manhattan Bridge is very close, but during our stay, we didn’t have any issues with noise from traffic. The beds are comfortable, and the bathroom is adequate. The breakfast is simple. The room is a good size for 2 people; any more than that might be a problem.
