I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Bryant Park – and honestly, that park becomes your living room when you’re staying here. The building itself has this sleek, modern vibe without being sterile, which is harder to pull off than you’d think in Midtown.

The rooms are what I’d call “efficiently stylish” – they’re not huge (this is Manhattan, after all), but everything feels intentional. The beds are legitimately comfortable, and the bathrooms have these rain showers that actually work well. What I really appreciated was the floor-to-ceiling windows in most rooms; you get these great city views without feeling like you’re in a fishbowl. The soundproofing is pretty solid too, which matters when you’re sandwiched between Fifth Avenue and the constant hum of delivery trucks on 39th. I stayed on the 12th floor and barely heard the street noise – though I’ll be honest, the occasional siren still makes it through.

Here’s the thing about this location that most people don’t realize until they’re walking around – you’re positioned perfectly for both the business district and the fun stuff. Grand Central is maybe eight blocks south, the Empire State Building is practically next door (great for photos, less great for sidewalk crowds), and you can walk to the Garment District or Hell’s Kitchen for dinner without taking the subway. The front desk staff actually knows the neighborhood well; they steered me toward this little Korean BBQ place on 32nd that I never would have found otherwise. The lobby gets pretty busy during check-in hours – around 3 PM it’s like a small convention – but it moves fast. One small thing that bugged me: the elevators can be slow during peak times, and with only three of them serving the whole building, you might find yourself waiting a few minutes during busy periods. But honestly, for a solid 4-star in this part of the city with an 8.1 rating, those are pretty minor complaints when you consider you’re paying significantly less than what you’d drop at the bigger name hotels six blocks north.

  The room was very nice with a reading chair and a desk and a desk chair as well as a separate toilet area. The coffee maker and motion detector lights are a big plus.

  6 night stay I believe would merit more than a $10 voucher for breakfast.
  I did not like the color scheme of the room.

  When room service was offered in the a.m. we asked for them to come back and they never did. We missed 3 room services during a 6 night stay, which was really ok, other than replenishment of bottled water.

  Close to Bryant Park/Grand Central Station.
  An AMAZING rooftop bar (restaurant) that was intimate, a kind staff (Roberto & Francesco) and had outdoor igloos with views of the Empire State Bldg. A total sleeper of a place-! We felt like we struck gold! The food and drinks were good, too.
