I mean, it’s still Times Square, so there’s ambient city noise, but you’re not dealing with the Elmo costume guys and tour groups congregating right outside your window at midnight.

The location thing is honestly perfect if you know how to work it. Sure, you’ve got all the obvious tourist stuff within a block or two, but walk east toward Fifth Avenue and you hit some genuinely good food spots that aren’t charging theme park prices. Plus – and this matters more than people think – the subway situation is solid. You’ve got the N, Q, R, W, S trains at Times Square-42nd, but also the B, D, F, M at 47-50th, so you’re not stuck funneling through that absolute chaos at the main Times Square station if you don’t want to. The hotel staff actually knows this stuff too, which is refreshing.

What really sold me though was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The rooms have proper blackout curtains (crucial in a city that never sleeps), decent water pressure, and outlets where you need them. The fitness center’s small but functional – I’ve seen way worse in four-star places. Check-in was smooth even during peak tourist season, and they didn’t try to upsell me on every single interaction, which happens way too often in this neighborhood. The rooftop situation gives you those skyline views everyone wants for their Instagram, but honestly, it’s just nice to have a quiet spot to decompress after walking around the madness all day.

Is it perfect? Well, parking’s expensive, but that’s Manhattan for you – take the subway or budget for it. And if you’re looking for some authentic, off-the-beaten-path New York experience, Times Square isn’t your neighborhood anyway. But if you want to be in the thick of things while still staying somewhere that feels thoughtful and well-run, this place delivers.
