Hotel Indigo NYC Downtown – Wall Street, an IHG Hotel Overview
You know what struck me first about Hotel Indigo on Water Street? It’s actually tucked into this fascinating corner of the Financial District where you can literally feel the city’s history seeping through the cobblestones. I mean, you’re walking distance from Stone Street’s historic taverns and that whole South Street Seaport area, but somehow this place manages to feel like a peaceful retreat from all the Wall Street chaos. The building itself has this boutique vibe that’s refreshingly different from those massive Midtown towers – it’s got character, which honestly is harder to find in this part of the city than you’d think.
The rooms are what really won me over though. They’ve got this whole nautical theme going that actually makes sense given you’re basically waterfront here, and it doesn’t feel forced or cheesy like some hotel themes do. The beds are seriously comfortable (I’m pretty picky about this), and the windows – well, depending on which side you’re on, you might catch glimpses of the harbor or at least some interesting street views of the old financial buildings. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, which is kind of miraculous considering you’re in the heart of Manhattan. I think it’s because this area actually empties out after business hours, unlike Times Square or Midtown where the noise never really stops.
The staff here gets it – they understand that most people staying in this neighborhood are either here for business or they’re tourists who want to be near the 9/11 Memorial, Statue of Liberty ferries, and Brooklyn Bridge without paying those insane Midtown prices. Check-in was smooth, and they actually gave me useful local tips, not just the generic “here’s where Times Square is” nonsense. The fitness center is small but functional, and there’s this little business center that’s actually useful if you need to print boarding passes or whatever. Parking is… well, it’s Lower Manhattan, so expect to pay, but there are garages nearby if you’re driving (though honestly, why would you). The real winner is the location for getting around – you’ve got multiple subway lines within a few blocks, and if you’re trying to get to Brooklyn or want to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, you’re perfectly positioned. It’s not going to win any awards for luxury, but for a solid 4-star experience in a neighborhood that’s got real New York character without the tourist circus, Hotel Indigo delivers exactly what it promises.

In these times where NY hotel prices have gone through the roof, the hotel Indigo still provides value for money.
The rooms are small but for a single traveler they are well appointed with an excellent bed and a spacious shower stall.
The breakfast which was included in my rate was very good and I enjoyed my interaction with all the staff who made my stay very comfortable. An added bonus is the location right on water street and for me in easy reach of my office.Invinci from Canada (7/10)
