I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to all the tourist stuff in about five minutes, but you’re not dealing with the Elmo costumes and street performers right outside your window at 2 AM. Hell’s Kitchen has really grown on me over the years – there’s this great little bodega right across the street where the guy remembers your coffee order, and you’ve got some solid late-night eats within a block or two.

The lobby has that typical Hilton vibe – nothing too fancy, but clean and professional. Check-in was pretty smooth when I stayed, though I’d avoid Friday evenings if you can help it since that’s when all the weekend warriors descend on the city. The rooms are… well, they’re New York hotel rooms, so don’t expect a palace, but they’re decent sized for Manhattan standards. The beds are actually pretty comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff), and the bathroom had good water pressure, which you can’t always count on in older NYC buildings. One thing that surprised me – it’s quieter than you’d expect. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise, but nothing like what you’d get if you were staying right in the thick of Times Square.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to get that most guests are either theater-goers or business travelers trying to make the most of their time. They’re quick with restaurant recommendations that aren’t just the usual tourist traps – actually steered me toward this little Thai place on 9th Avenue that became my go-to spot. The area’s got character too; you’ll see actual New Yorkers going about their business instead of just crowds taking selfies. Port Authority is close enough to be convenient for getting around but far enough that you’re not dealing with that particular brand of chaos. And honestly, for a 4-star place with a 7.0 rating, it delivers exactly what you’d expect – nothing groundbreaking, but solid and reliable. If you’re looking for somewhere that puts you in the heart of things without the full sensory overload, and you don’t need all the bells and whistles of a luxury spot, this place does the job well.

  Everyone was amazing friendly! Really would come back here.
  My son turned 10, and i asked if they could do something nice with the room! He was so suprised.
  Beds were very comfortable.
