Arlo NoMad Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Arlo NoMad, you immediately get that this four-star hotel knows exactly what it’s doing. The lobby has this sleek, modern vibe that feels distinctly New York without trying too hard — think clean lines, warm lighting, and just enough character to make you feel like you’re somewhere special. It’s the kind of place where the staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re navigating a city as intense as Manhattan.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about NoMad — it’s one of those neighborhoods that locals love but tourists are just starting to discover. You’re literally in the sweet spot between Midtown’s energy and the Village’s charm, with Madison Square Park right around the corner when you need a breather from the concrete. The Flatiron Building is a five-minute walk, and you can actually get to both the Empire State Building and Union Square without dealing with too many subway transfers. I mean, couples rate this location a 9.3 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why.

The Room Experience

The rooms at Arlo NoMad are what I’d call “smart small” — they’ve maximized every inch without making you feel cramped. The beds are genuinely comfortable (apparently they’re highly rated for this, and I can confirm it’s not just marketing speak), and the windows actually open, which is rarer than you’d think in New York hotels. The design feels thoughtful rather than flashy — there’s plenty of USB ports where you need them, good lighting for getting ready, and the bathrooms have that rainfall shower head that makes you want to stay in longer than you should.

Breakfast & Amenities

The American breakfast here is solid without being fancy — think quality coffee, fresh pastries, and the kind of eggs that don’t taste like they’ve been sitting under heat lamps. What really surprised me was that they have private parking available, which in this part of Manhattan is basically like finding a unicorn. The rooftop area gives you decent city views, and there’s something satisfying about having your morning coffee while looking out over the organized chaos that is New York waking up.

Why Guests Love It

You know what makes Arlo NoMad work? It doesn’t try to be everything to everyone. Instead, it focuses on being really good at the things that matter most when you’re exploring New York — a great location that puts you in the middle of everything, comfortable rooms that actually let you rest, and service that feels genuine rather than scripted. It’s the kind of place where you can walk out the door and be at some of the city’s best restaurants in minutes, but you’re also happy to come back at the end of a long day of sightseeing.

Reviews of Arlo NoMad

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Arlo Nomad! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of excellent. When we mentioned that we weren’t thrilled with the view from our original room, they not only listened to our concerns but also upgraded us to a better room without hesitation. Their attentiveness and genuine desire to make us feel welcome truly stood out.

The hotel’s design is a masterpiece — modern, sleek, and thoughtfully curated to create a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. Every detail felt intentional, from the stylish decor to the smart use of space. It’s the kind of place that feels Instagram-worthy at every turn.

And let’s talk about the location! Situated right in the heart of the city, the Arlo Nomad makes it incredibly easy to explore everything New York has to offer. Whether it was dining, shopping, or sightseeing, we were just steps away from some of the best the city has to offer.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New York. Between the impeccable service, stunning design, and unbeatable location, it’s a gem I’d gladly return to for my next trip!

This could be my new favorite hotel in NYC, if not for the fact that the rooms…..even for NYC standards…. are VERY SMALL.
Staff is great, food is good, beds are comfy but the rooms are smaller than anything I have ever stayed in

  • Ruth from United Kingdom (9/10)

Loved the Corner room with incredible views, the rooftop onlooking Empire State Building, the lobby scent is gorgeous ( so much so, I had to buy their diffusers from the shop) and the excellent showers.
Great location for midtown & Madison Square Garden. Excellent cocktails in their diner.

  • Christy from Canada (7/10)

The location is amazing, so close to a couple of wonderful bars and highlights. Also the subway is closeby, which makes travelling through the city effourtless. The beds were super comfy!
