First Impressions

Walking into Pendry Manhattan West, you immediately feel like you’ve stumbled onto the set of a high-end drama series. The lobby has this sleek, modern energy that somehow doesn’t feel cold — there’s warmth in the lighting and the way staff actually make eye contact when they greet you. I mean, this is a five-star property in Hudson Yards, so expectations are already sky-high, but they manage to deliver without the stuffiness you sometimes get at luxury hotels.

The Hudson Yards Advantage

Here’s what I love about this location — you’re literally in the heart of one of New York’s newest neighborhoods, but it doesn’t feel like a construction zone anymore. The Vessel and Edge observation deck are right there (honestly, you can see them from some rooms), and Penn Station is just a few blocks away, which is incredibly handy if you’re catching trains. Couples seem to get this — the location scored a 9.7 with them, and I totally understand why. There’s something romantic about walking through Hudson Yards at night with all those gleaming towers around you.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had floor-to-ceiling windows that made me feel like I was floating above the city. The design is what I’d call “warm minimalism” — clean lines but with rich textures and colors that actually make you want to spend time there. The bathroom alone is worth mentioning, with this gorgeous marble that catches the light just right. You know what really impressed me though? The blackout curtains actually work, which in a city that never sleeps is basically a miracle.

Dining and Amenities

The restaurant situation here is solid — they’ve got this rooftop spot that serves excellent cocktails with views that’ll make your Instagram followers jealous (but in a good way). The spa is smaller than what you might find at some luxury hotels, but it’s beautifully designed and never feels crowded. I actually appreciated that they have parking available, which is rare enough in Manhattan that it’s worth calling out. Sure, it’s not cheap, but when you’re dealing with New York traffic, having that option is pretty valuable.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it balances being part of the Hudson Yards development without losing its own identity. The service feels personal — staff remember your name and preferences without being overly familiar about it. The location score of 9.2 makes total sense when you experience how easy it is to get around from here, whether you’re heading to Midtown for meetings or downtown for dinner. It’s one of those hotels where you actually look forward to coming back at the end of the day, and honestly, that’s not something you can say about every luxury property in the city.

  Amazing hotel! During our stay at the Pendry Hotel in New York, we were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service provided by the team. Their attentiveness and professionalism truly enhanced our experience. The hotel itself is outstanding, with its stylish design and excellent amenities making it a top choice for any visit to the city. Highly recommended for a memorable stay! The neighborhood is very nice too! New and modern, near attractions such as The Edge, Vessel, High Line, Hudson Yards shops and good restaurants. And also some blocks away from time square, 5th ave and so on. We hope to get back again soon!

  The Pendry is located right in the heart of the wonderful area around Hudson Yards on the West side. Can't say enough about how this area is clean, quiet (relatively), and FULL of great places to eat and shop. The Whole Foods steps away from the front entrance is a great bonus, but really, you can find just about anything within a short walk or subway ride. Penn Station is a block and a half away, as is the Hudson Yards station in the other direction, and we used both to get everywhere in NYC during our weeklong stay. The staff is as polite and wonderful as I can imagine a staff group being. They are respectful to levels that sometimes seem "too much," honestly (for example, it seems they have a policy that no staff member will ride on an elevator with a guest, like EVER, and while I get it, that's really not a big deal, right?). Anyway, I just can't say enough good things about this hotel. The rooms were spotless, with daily housekeeping service including turndowns at night. Traffic noise was only occasionally noticeable.

  Breakfast was ok. It was not included but I ordered it to my room one day. The $10 admin fee was ridiculous as I ordered coffee for $12 and had to pay $10 admin in that. Not impressed at all.

  We got an apartment on the 21st floor; the view was stunning. Each day, when we returned to the room in the afternoon or evening, the room was prepared, and chilly music was turned on.
