Walking into Kimpton Theta New York – Times Square, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical Times Square tourist trap. The location on 8th Avenue is actually brilliant if you know New York. You’re close enough to Times Square that you can walk to shows and all the tourist stuff, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the worst of the crowds every time you leave the hotel. What I love is how easy it is to grab the subway — multiple lines are within a few blocks, which locals will tell you is gold. The area has some great little spots too, like proper New York delis and coffee shops that aren’t completely overrun with tourists. Couples especially seem to get this location — there’s something romantic about being able to duck away from the madness into quieter side streets.

The beds here are genuinely exceptional — and I’m someone who’s pretty picky about sleep quality when traveling. There’s this perfect balance of firm support and plush comfort that actually lives up to the luxury standard you’d expect from a five-star property. The breakfast setup is solid — they do both American classics and a proper buffet spread. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s well-executed and honestly, when you’re staying in Times Square, having good coffee and decent eggs without having to venture into the tourist breakfast wasteland is worth a lot. The fact that they have private parking is almost unheard of in this part of Manhattan. I mean, most people won’t drive here anyway, but if you’re coming from outside the city or doing a longer East Coast trip, that’s a huge advantage.

If you are going to see any shows – this hotel is close to many theatres The hotel its self was comfortable Room was clean and had most amenities There was no breakfast offered If you want tea / coffee in your room – they will bring kettle / coffeemaker ( room has a fridge / hairdryer / steamer ) Check in staff and in general staff was pleasant and helpful
