The design feels deliberately moody with these rich, dark colors and dramatic lighting that somehow works perfectly even though you’re literally surrounded by neon madness outside.

The location is honestly both a blessing and exactly what you’d expect. Yes, you’re right there on 8th Avenue between 48th and 49th, which means the energy is insane and you can walk to pretty much any show without breaking a sweat. But it also means you’ll hear sirens – though honestly, the rooms are better soundproofed than I expected for a hotel smack in the middle of everything. I mean, you’re not going to get mountain silence, but I slept fine most nights. The real insider thing here is that you’re actually positioned perfectly to duck down those side streets toward 9th Avenue when you want to escape the tourist crowds. There’s this whole row of decent restaurants and bars just a block west that most visitors never discover because they’re too overwhelmed by the Times Square spectacle.

What really sold me on this place, though, was how the staff actually seemed to get that most guests are dealing with the intensity of New York. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no overselling of services or lengthy explanations of amenities I could figure out myself. The rooms have this kind of cozy, almost residential feel that’s such a relief after spending your day getting bombarded by city stimulation. The bathrooms are legitimately nice too, with good water pressure and toiletries that don’t feel like an afterthought. I appreciated the little details – like, the curtains actually block out the street lights when you want to sleep in, and there’s enough outlet space that you’re not playing phone charger Tetris. The fitness center is small but functional, and honestly, if you’re staying here you’re probably doing most of your walking outside anyway. Look, an 8.2 rating feels about right – it’s solidly good without being perfect, and the location premium is real. But if you want to be in the thick of everything and still have a genuinely comfortable place to retreat to, this works really well. Just don’t expect tranquil mornings or budget-friendly room service.

If you are going to see any shows – this hotel is close to many theatres The hotel its self was comfortable Room was clean and had most amenities There was no breakfast offered If you want tea / coffee in your room – they will bring kettle / coffeemaker ( room has a fridge / hairdryer / steamer ) Check in staff and in general staff was pleasant and helpful
