The Times Square EDITION New York Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Times Square EDITION New York feels like stepping into a sleek sanctuary right in the middle of Manhattan’s most chaotic neighborhood. I mean, you’re literally at 47th and 7th — you can’t get more Times Square than that — but somehow this five-star property manages to create this incredibly calm, sophisticated atmosphere. The lobby has this modern, almost minimalist design that’s such a relief after dealing with the sensory overload outside. You know what struck me most? How they’ve managed to soundproof everything so well that the honking taxis and street performers become just a distant hum.
Location & Neighborhood
Honestly, the location is pretty much unbeatable if you want to be in the thick of everything. You’re steps away from Broadway theaters, and I actually timed it — it’s a three-minute walk to the TKTS stairs where everyone takes those classic NYC photos. The subway access is incredible too; you’ve got Times Square-42nd Street station right there, which connects you to basically every line in the system. What couples seem to love (and I get why they rated it 9.3) is that you can walk to romantic spots like Bryant Park or catch a show, then retreat back to this luxury bubble when the crowds get overwhelming.
The Rooms
The rooms are where this place really shines — they’re these gorgeous, contemporary spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows that give you either city views or glimpses of the Hudson River if you’re lucky. The beds are seriously comfortable, and the bathrooms have these deep soaking tubs that feel almost decadent after a long day of walking around the city. I loved the little details, like the custom minibar setup and how they’ve designed the lighting to actually help you wind down. The soundproofing I mentioned earlier? It’s even better up in the rooms — you’ll sleep surprisingly well for being right in Times Square.
Dining & Amenities
The American breakfast here is actually really well done — not just your typical hotel continental spread, but proper dishes that feel thoughtful. There’s also this rooftop space that becomes pretty magical in the evenings, though it can get busy (which, honestly, everything good in this neighborhood does). The fitness center is solid if you need to work off all that New York eating, and the spa services are a nice touch when you need to decompress. What I appreciated most was how the staff seems to genuinely understand that guests are dealing with the intensity of Times Square and they adjust their service accordingly.
Why Guests Love It
Look, staying right in Times Square isn’t for everyone, but if you want to experience New York at its most New York-ish, The Times Square EDITION New York nails it. You get all the energy and excitement of being at the crossroads of the world, but with this luxury retreat to escape to whenever you need a break. The combination of that prime location with genuinely sophisticated accommodations is pretty rare — most Times Square hotels are either touristy or way too expensive for what you get. This one actually delivers on both the location and the luxury experience, which explains why it consistently gets such high ratings from couples and solo travelers alike.
The concierge service in New York arranges front-row Broadway seats, gallery previews, and private skyline yacht dinners.

Reviews of The Times Square EDITION New York

The interiors were beautiful and the staff incredible. We had a slight hiccup at first but the staff went above and beyond to rectify. Considering it’s a hotel in one of the biggest cities in the world it’s truly incredible that they made us feel so special. One of the managers Susan and some very special people at the front desk, terrace bar, paradise club and valet team made a huge impact on our stay and we would like to give our thanks for making our stay as memorable as it was.

We stayed for 8 days for touristic purposes. Everything was perfect, including its central location, staff, restaurant and bar. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, everywhere was spotlessly clean, they leave small water bottles in your room every evening. Elevators are generally complained about in New York, but I can say that we never had to wait, they have enough and fast elevators.

A stylish contemporary hotel in the heart of Times Square; at the Edition you are on the doorstep of all the action. The rooms have everything you'd want and need, and the communal areas are delighful.
