Truss Hotel Times Square Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Truss Hotel Times Square on 9th Avenue, you immediately notice it’s not trying too hard to be flashy — which honestly feels refreshing in this part of New York. The four-star property sits right in the Hudson Yards area, and I mean right where all the action is happening. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that doesn’t scream “tourist trap,” which I appreciated after wandering around Times Square for a bit.
The Location Game-Changer
Here’s the thing about this spot — you’re literally minutes from everything that matters. Penn Station is close enough that you won’t be dragging your luggage for blocks (trust me, that matters), and the Hudson Yards development means you’ve got some seriously good dining options within walking distance. I noticed couples seem to really love staying here, and after spending time in the area, I get it. You can easily walk to the High Line, catch a show in the Theater District, or just wander through the newer parts of the neighborhood without feeling like you’re stuck in pure tourist chaos.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but smart — they’ve clearly thought about how to make the space work without feeling cramped. The windows actually open (which you don’t always get in NYC hotels), and the soundproofing is decent considering you’re in one of the busiest areas of Manhattan. The bathroom was modern and clean, though not huge — but honestly, you’re probably not spending much time there anyway. What I really liked was the workspace setup; if you need to get some work done, there’s actually room to spread out a laptop without feeling like you’re working from a closet.
Neighborhood Insights
This part of the city has changed so much in recent years, and staying here puts you right in the middle of that transformation. You’ve got the traditional Times Square energy just a few blocks away, but you’re also close to the newer Hudson Yards scene with its shops and restaurants. The parking situation is what you’d expect for Manhattan — expensive and limited — so I’d honestly recommend skipping the car if possible. The subway access is solid though, with multiple lines nearby that’ll get you anywhere you need to go.
Why Guests Love It
What really works about this place is the balance it strikes. You’re not paying premium prices for unnecessary frills, but you’re also not sacrificing comfort or location. The staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, and the whole operation feels well-run without being stuffy. For couples especially, there’s something nice about having a comfortable base that’s close to everything but doesn’t feel like you’re sleeping inside a tourist attraction. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax between exploring the city, which — let’s be honest — is exactly what you want from a NYC hotel.
Early hotels booking in New York secures jazz supper clubs, skyline helicopter tours, and Hudson sailing picnics.

Truss Hotel is 5 minutes walk from Time Sq. It's spotlessly clean and the staff are so friendly and polite. Jessie at reception is competent, charming and so helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are big and the beds very comfortable. The complimentary toiletries are welcome too.

The location was convenient. A short walk to Times Square and the convention center at Hudson Yards. Loads of places nearby for food. The staff were excellent, friendly and accessible. The person at check-in even took the initiative to move our groups’ rooms when she realised we were a group so that we would all be together/close by on the same floor.
The rooms are a good size and have a nice contemporary feel to them (especially the bathroom)
