The One Boutique Hotel Overview

First Impressions

Honestly, The One Boutique Hotel caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know what I mean — sometimes you roll up to a place and it just feels right, even when you weren’t expecting much. This three-star spot sits on Northern Boulevard in Flushing, and while the area might not scream “boutique hotel,” there’s something genuinely welcoming about the whole setup. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which is pretty rare these days.

The Neighborhood Reality

Let me be real with you — Flushing isn’t Manhattan, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re in the heart of one of NYC’s most authentic neighborhoods, where you can grab incredible dumplings at 2 AM and nobody bats an eye. The hotel sits right on a main drag, so getting around is surprisingly easy once you figure out the bus routes. I mean, you’re about 30 minutes from Midtown by subway, which honestly beats some of those overpriced hotels closer to Times Square when you factor in the hassle.

What Makes It Special

Here’s the thing that really struck me — this place has serious repeat customers, more than most hotels I’ve stayed at. After spending a few nights here, I totally get why. The room was clean and well-maintained, nothing fancy but everything worked properly. The beds are actually comfortable (not those rock-hard mattresses some boutique places think are sophisticated), and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes. There’s a small restaurant on-site that serves decent food, though honestly, with all the amazing options in Flushing, you’d be crazy not to explore the neighborhood.

The Practical Stuff

Look, I’ll be straight with you — this isn’t a place where you’ll find a fancy spa or elaborate amenities. What you will find is solid value and staff who seem to actually care about your stay. The front desk folks know the area really well and can point you toward the good stuff (like that Korean BBQ place two blocks over that doesn’t look like much but will blow your mind). Parking is available, which is honestly a huge relief in this part of Queens where street parking can be a nightmare.

Why Guests Love It

The fact that couples rate this place highly tells you something important — it’s got that comfortable, unpretentious vibe that makes for a good stay. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or celebrity chef restaurants, but you are getting a clean, well-run hotel in a neighborhood that feels like the real New York. Plus, when you’re spending half what you’d pay in Manhattan and getting better food within walking distance, it’s hard to complain. The repeat guest thing really says it all — people come back because it works, not because it’s trying to impress anyone.

Apartments in New York suit remote creatives with sunlit studios, editing bays, and co-working rooftops.

Close to some shops and restaurants, seems to be a fairly safe area also. Close to subway station that goes into the city. Staff were mostly friendly.

  • Steven from United Kingdom (8/10)

The hotel is quiet, in a quiet neighbourhood, just off the main road of Chinatown. I think there was only 6-8 rooms per floor, so you're unlikely to be bothered by noise from other guests. I never heard a peep when I was there.

Clean spacious rooms. Good overnight stop off.
