The Hoxton, Williamsburg Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Hoxton, Williamsburg feels like discovering a well-kept secret that somehow everyone already knows about. This four-star boutique hotel sits right on Wythe Avenue, and honestly, you can’t miss the industrial-chic facade that perfectly captures Brooklyn’s creative energy. The lobby hits that sweet spot between polished and relaxed — think exposed brick, vintage leather seating, and just enough greenery to make the space feel alive. I mean, it’s the kind of place where you’d actually want to hang out even if you weren’t staying here.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re literally steps from the East River waterfront with those postcard views of Manhattan, but you’re also deep enough into Brooklyn to feel like you’re experiencing the real deal. The hotel scored a 9.2 for location, and after spending time here, I totally get why. Domino Park is right there for morning runs, and the weekend artists’ markets at East River State Park happen practically next door. Plus, the L train at Bedford Avenue is close enough that getting into Manhattan takes maybe 15 minutes — though honestly, you might find yourself wanting to stay put in Williamsburg instead.
The Room Experience
The rooms here are what I’d call thoughtfully compact — they’ve managed to pack everything you need into spaces that feel cozy rather than cramped. Each room has this warm, lived-in vibe with custom furnishings and locally-sourced artwork that actually means something. The beds are seriously comfortable (I’m talking sink-right-in quality), and the bathrooms feature those rainfall showers that make you want to linger. What really impressed me was the attention to detail — from the locally-made snacks in the mini-bar to the vintage-style rotary phones that somehow still work perfectly.
Dining & Social Spaces
The ground-floor restaurant and bar area becomes this buzzing social hub, especially in the evenings when both hotel guests and neighborhood locals mix together. The breakfast-to-go concept works perfectly for this area — you can grab something quality and head straight to the waterfront or explore the neighborhood food scene. I actually loved that they don’t try to keep you trapped inside with elaborate dining options, because honestly, you’re in one of NYC’s best foodie neighborhoods. The rooftop space offers killer Manhattan skyline views, and it’s where couples seem to gravitate (which makes sense given that couples rate the location 9.3 for romantic getaways).
Why Guests Love It
This place gets the balance right between being a proper hotel and feeling connected to the neighborhood’s creative pulse. The staff genuinely knows the area and can point you toward hidden gems that aren’t in guidebooks. There’s secure parking available, which is honestly a huge relief in this part of Brooklyn. What keeps people coming back is how The Hoxton manages to feel both polished and authentic — it’s not trying too hard to be cool, it just naturally fits into Williamsburg’s creative landscape while offering the comfort and service you want from a quality hotel.

The rooms are slightly compact BUT not as small as ones you find in central Manhattan – the in room facilities are fab! the hot water bottle came in super handy as I have crohns and when I have a flare up need a hot water bottle. The free water and milk was also a lovely touch. The hotel was incredibly clean and the location honestly is great! I also had a button pop off my coat and when talking to reception they were able to supply me with a little sewing kit which was fab!

The physical space, in terms of design and layout, is beautiful and inviting. The staff was great—balanced being very friendly and professional at once, which is not always a given in hospitality. Especially post-COVID, lots of service-industry people seem overwhelmed and cranky. But every staff member we met at Hoxton was joyful and helpful. We appreciated the lovely coffee cups and coffee and milk and water provided gratis in rooms and the $5 in-room lite bfast. Also the efforts at being “green” matter enormously.
