The Gregorian New York City Overview

First Impressions

Walking into The Gregorian New York City feels like discovering one of those well-kept secrets that seasoned New York travelers whisper about. This four-star boutique hotel sits right on West 35th Street, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — you’re basically in the heart of everything without the chaos of Times Square breathing down your neck. The lobby has this understated elegance that immediately tells you the owners actually care about details, not just filling beds.

Location That Actually Makes Sense

Here’s what I love about this spot — you can walk to Penn Station in about three minutes, which means easy airport connections and day trips. The Empire State Building is literally around the corner, and you know what? That’s actually convenient when you have visitors who insist on the tourist shots. Herald Square and Macy’s are right there too, but the real win is being close to Koreatown on 32nd Street. I mean, some of the best late-night eats in the city are a five-minute stroll away. Couples seem to get this — they’ve rated the location 9.3, and I totally understand why.

The Room Experience

The rooms here are what I’d call “New York practical” — they’re not massive, but they’re thoughtfully designed. What really stands out is the bed situation; this place has genuinely comfortable mattresses, which honestly can make or break a New York stay. The room I stayed in had blackout curtains that actually worked (rare in this city), and the air conditioning was quiet enough that street noise wasn’t an issue. The bathrooms are compact but well-appointed, with decent water pressure — another small victory in Manhattan hotel land.

Morning Routine

Breakfast here is grab-and-go style, which actually works perfectly if you’re planning to be out exploring early. They’ve got quality coffee and pastries that don’t taste like they’ve been sitting around since yesterday. It’s not a fancy spread, but it gets the job done without the hassle of sitting in a crowded hotel restaurant. Plus, you can take it with you and eat in nearby Bryant Park if the weather’s nice — that’s what I ended up doing most mornings.

Why Guests Love It

The Gregorian gets the balance right between being centrally located and actually livable. You’re not paying premium prices for a lobby that looks like a museum, but you’re also not compromising on the things that matter — like sleep quality and getting around the city easily. The staff seems to understand that most guests are here to experience New York, not hang out in the hotel all day. With an 8.3 rating and that impressive 9.4 location score, it’s clear that other travelers appreciate this no-nonsense approach to Manhattan hospitality. It’s the kind of place you’d book again without hesitation.

Early hotels booking in New York secures jazz supper clubs, skyline helicopter tours, and Hudson sailing picnics.
