SpringHill Suites by Marriott New York Manhattan Times Square Overview
You know what struck me first about this SpringHill Suites? The lobby actually feels calm despite being smack in the middle of Times Square chaos. I mean, you walk in from West 46th Street – which honestly gets pretty hectic with all the theater crowds – and there’s this immediate sense of “okay, I can breathe now.” The space has that modern Marriott vibe without feeling too corporate, if that makes sense.
The suites themselves are what really sold me on this place. Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of Manhattan hotels where you can barely open your suitcase, but these rooms actually have separate living areas that don’t feel like an afterthought. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either – there’s a real fridge and microwave that you’ll actually use, especially when you’re paying Times Square prices for everything. I particularly appreciated the blackout curtains because, let’s be real, this neighborhood never sleeps and the neon can be brutal if you’re trying to recover from jet lag. The beds are solid Marriott quality, though I did notice some street noise on the lower floors facing 46th – nothing terrible, just the usual city soundtrack of taxis and late-night pedestrians.
What I found genuinely helpful was how walkable everything is from here. You’re literally two blocks from the TKTS stairs (which, honestly, is close enough to pop over for last-minute show tickets but far enough that you’re not dealing with the worst of the tourist bottleneck). The 1/2/3 and N/Q/R/W trains are right there at Times Square-42nd, and if you need to grab decent coffee that isn’t Starbucks, there’s a great little spot called Café Grumpy about a five-minute walk toward Hell’s Kitchen. The hotel’s breakfast spread is pretty standard – nothing fancy, but the waffle station hits the spot and the coffee is surprisingly good for a chain hotel. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend arriving after 2 PM on weekends because the front desk can get backed up with theater-goers checking in early. One small thing – the elevators can be slow during peak times, which is pretty typical for Midtown hotels but worth noting if you’re in a rush. Overall, it’s exactly what you want from a Times Square hotel: clean, comfortable, and positioned so you can dive into the madness when you want to, then retreat to something that feels like a proper home base.

It was ok. Some of the food was cold and seemed to have sat out for awhile. Good selection of foods. Just not great quality control. Juice machine wasn't taken care of either.

Jason from United Kingdom (8/10)
Good location, near Times Square. Not too far from the metro to travel out further. Buffet breakfast was good overall.
Stored our suitcases before we could check in allowing us to freely check out the city that afternoon.Nadia from United States (7/10)
The location was great. It was walking distance from the major attractions. The hotel was clean. Breakfast was great with a nice selection of options. However, the room was uncomfortably too small. There were two of us in the room it was extremely difficult maneuvering with our suitcases and getting dress. We stayed one night so we dealt with it. However, any longer of a stay would have been miserable.

Great location! It was next door to the broadway show we watched and a few steps to Times Square and transit stations.
