Residence Inn by Marriott New York Manhattan/Central Park Overview
You know, I’ve stayed at a lot of extended-stay places in Manhattan, and honestly, the Residence Inn on Broadway surprised me in the best way. The location is sort of perfect if you think about it – you’re right in the thick of Times Square energy (yes, it gets crazy busy, especially evenings) but Central Park is literally a five-minute walk north on Broadway. I mean, you can grab your morning coffee and be sitting by the reservoir before most tourists even figure out which subway line they need.
The building itself has this solid, residential feel that’s refreshing when you’re surrounded by all the Broadway theater madness. What really got me was how they’ve managed to make the suites feel like actual apartments rather than hotel rooms with a kitchenette shoved in the corner. The full-size fridges are clutch – and I’m not just talking about storing leftover pizza, though that’s important too. When you’re staying more than a few days, being able to hit the Whole Foods on Columbus Circle and actually cook something decent makes a huge difference. The staff seemed genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. Check-in was smooth even during what looked like a hectic afternoon rush.
Here’s what I really appreciated – the soundproofing is actually decent for being right on Broadway. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise (it’s New York, come on), but it’s not like you’re trying to sleep through car horns all night. The building’s positioned so most rooms face away from the busiest intersection chaos. And honestly, the gym situation is better than expected. Nothing fancy, but it’s got what you need and it’s usually not packed. The whole place has this lived-in quality that works well for business travelers or families doing the extended New York thing. I noticed a lot of people who seemed to be in town for weeks rather than just a quick tourist trip. Parking is expensive – well, it’s Manhattan – but they do have valet service if you’re brave enough to drive into the city. Most people I talked to were either walking everywhere or using the subway stations at Times Square, which are admittedly a bit of a zoo but incredibly convenient once you get used to the crowds.

Location is excellent. Couple of blocks to Central Park and all the other points of interest are a few minutes away by foot. Famous NY subway is near as well. View from the room is great. The higher you are the better it gets. We were on the 39th floor- view was nice but I wish we were higher. Breakfast selection was good for our needs although a little repetitive.A room we were in was quiet when aircon was switched off. I am guessing that in the summer months it is very hot in the room which is small and hard to sleep at night due to air conditioning noises. For us in mid November temperatures and noise levels were comfortable. The staff we interacted with were very nice and polite. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if we found a great deal.
