Hyatt Regency Jersey City Overview
First Impressions
The Hyatt Regency Jersey City sits right on Exchange Place, and honestly, the location is pretty much perfect if you want Manhattan views without Manhattan prices. This four-star hotel has this sleek, modern vibe that hits you the moment you walk into the lobby — it’s polished but not stuffy, you know? The building itself is tall enough that most rooms get those sweeping views of the Hudson River and the city skyline that people rave about. The attention to detail in the design creates an atmosphere that feels both contemporary and welcoming to all guests.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about staying in Jersey City — you’re literally a quick PATH train ride from Manhattan, but you get to escape the chaos at the end of the day. The Exchange Place PATH station is basically right outside the hotel, which means you can be in the Financial District in about five minutes. I mean, couples consistently rate this location a 9.5 out of 10, and after staying here, I totally get why. You’ve got Liberty State Park nearby for morning runs, and the waterfront walkway is perfect for evening strolls when you want to decompress.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was on the 18th floor, and the view was honestly spectacular — floor-to-ceiling windows facing Manhattan with the Statue of Liberty visible in the distance. The beds are comfortable (those crisp white Hyatt linens, you know), and there’s enough space to actually spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The bathroom was modern and well-lit, which is something I always notice because hotel lighting can be terrible sometimes. Natural light floods through the expansive windows, making the entire space feel bright and inviting throughout the day.
Dining & Amenities
Breakfast here is solid — they do both American classics and a buffet setup, so whether you want eggs benedict or just grab some pastries and coffee, you’re covered. The restaurant has decent food, though I’ll be honest, with all the amazing options in nearby Newport and downtown Jersey City, I ended up exploring more than eating at the hotel. What I really appreciated was the parking situation — having private parking at the hotel is actually a huge deal in this area, especially if you’re driving in from somewhere else. The convenience of on-site parking eliminates the stress of finding street parking in the busy downtown area.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this place works because it gives you that Manhattan experience without the Manhattan headaches. You get the views, the professional service, and easy access to everything you want to see, but you can actually relax here. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay smooth, and there’s something refreshing about being able to step outside and not immediately be swallowed by crowds of tourists. Plus, if you’re traveling as a couple, this location really delivers on romance — those sunset views over the harbor are pretty unforgettable.
Locals suggest to book apartments in New York around Williamsburg for river sunsets, vinyl shops, and craft breweries.
