Hell’s Kitchen has completely transformed over the past decade, and Hotel Scherman puts you right in the middle of all that energy. You’re literally steps from Times Square (which is great when you want it, and far enough when you don’t), and the Theater District is your backyard. I mean, you can grab dinner at one of the incredible restaurants along Ninth Avenue, catch a Broadway show, and be back in your room within minutes. The subway access is fantastic too — you’ve got multiple lines within a few blocks, so getting anywhere in the city is actually pretty painless.

The Room Experience

Here’s what really impressed me about the rooms: they’ve clearly put serious thought into the beds. You know how hotel beds can be hit or miss? Well, these are definitely a hit — the kind where you actually sleep through the night despite being in the middle of Manhattan. The rooms themselves are well-designed without being flashy, with enough space to spread out your stuff (which, let’s be honest, is not always a given in New York hotels). The windows offer decent views of the neighborhood, and there’s something satisfying about watching the city buzz below while you’re comfortable inside.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast setup works really well — they offer both continental and buffet options, so whether you’re the grab-and-go type or someone who likes to sit down with a proper meal, you’re covered. The buffet has a good variety without being overwhelming, and the continental option is perfect for those early theater matinee days when you need something quick but substantial. What I appreciated most was that the breakfast area doesn’t feel cramped or rushed, even when it’s busy.

  The room was nice, bathroom is great. The bed was very comfortable. View was amazing especially from the roof. Breakfast was good. The hotel location is great.

  Hotel was clean, breakfast was just about right, not too heavy just enough to get you up and out. The rooms aren’t big(like most hotels in NYC) but it was perfectly formed, clean and had all you needed(fridge, microwave, hot plate, coffee/tea maker and a separate wee sink in the room). Also you can get to the bar from the hotel, which had a great atmosphere.
