Holiday Inn Express – Wall Street, an IHG Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Holiday Inn Express – Wall Street, an IHG Hotel, you immediately get that “business traveler meets tourist” vibe that actually works really well. It’s a three-star property, so don’t expect marble lobbies or doormen in white gloves, but honestly? The place feels fresh and modern in that clean, efficient way that makes you think “okay, I can work with this.” The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful — not just going through the motions — and I appreciated how they actually knew the neighborhood when I asked about getting around.
The Financial District Location
Here’s what I love about staying on Water Street — you’re literally in the heart of the Financial District, which means you can walk to Stone Street’s cobblestone restaurant area in about three minutes, and the Staten Island Ferry terminal is right there if you want those free Statue of Liberty views. New York can be overwhelming, but this corner feels manageable somehow. Wall Street itself is just around the corner, and I mean, there’s something pretty cool about grabbing coffee where all those suited-up finance folks are rushing around. The couples who stay here seem to get it — there’s romance in being right in the thick of historic Manhattan, even if it’s not the flashiest neighborhood.
The Room Experience
My room was on the smaller side, which is exactly what you’d expect in this part of the city, but it was smartly designed. The bed was actually comfortable — sometimes these chain hotels skimp on mattresses, but this one didn’t leave me with a sore back. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stayed at night, considering you’re surrounded by the financial buzz during the day. The bathroom was compact but functional, and honestly, when you’re spending most of your time exploring the city, you just need a clean, comfortable place to crash.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
The continental breakfast buffet is… well, it’s what you’d expect from a Holiday Inn Express, but they do it well. Fresh coffee, decent pastries, and the usual suspects like cereal and yogurt. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done and saves you from hunting down breakfast in an area where a bagel can cost you twelve bucks. I actually found myself eating there most mornings just because it was easy and reliable. The free WiFi throughout the hotel worked perfectly, which matters more than you might think when you’re trying to navigate the subway system or find restaurant recommendations.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to be the most Instagram-worthy hotel you’ve ever stayed in, but it nails the fundamentals in a location that’s hard to beat. You’re walking distance from the Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Seaport, and some of the city’s best historic sites, while still being connected to subway lines that’ll get you uptown quickly. The value proposition makes sense — you’re paying for the location and reliability, not high-end amenities. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about being in this historic part of Manhattan, and the hotel gives you a solid home base without breaking the bank.
Hotel in New York reservations spike before fashion week, so style lovers lock in loft suites early.

Location was excellent, walkable distance to Brooklyn bridge, charging bull, battery park, one world trade center.
Pedro from United States (8/10)
The place had a great location, the free breakfast was very convenient, and we really appreciated being put in a very tall apartment. I feel it's a little bit unfair that this hotel is rated 7-point-something as of today. It really is a solid 8. It's not a luxurious place, but it is decent — comparable to any Holiday Inn in America.
