You’d think being so close to all the Midtown action would mean sirens and street noise, but the side street location actually shields you from most of that.

Here’s the thing about the neighborhood that took me a while to appreciate – you’re positioned perfectly between the corporate energy of Midtown and the more relaxed residential feel of the Upper East Side. There’s a little deli right around the corner on Lexington that locals actually go to (not just hotel guests), and you can walk to Bryant Park in about eight minutes when you need some green space. The building itself has this understated entrance that I initially thought was too subtle, but now I get it – it’s not trying to scream “tourist hotel” at everyone walking by. Check-in was surprisingly smooth, probably because they’re not dealing with the constant turnover of a typical tourist spot. The front desk staff actually remembered my name by day two, which never happens in New York hotels. One small thing – the elevators are a bit slow, but honestly, that’s pretty standard for older Manhattan buildings, and the wait gives you time to decompress from whatever subway adventure you just survived. With a 9.1 rating, you’re getting something special here, and it shows in the details that matter when you’re actually living in the space for a few days rather than just crashing for a night.

  Walking distance to theaters, shopping and Christmas decors. Convenient location during early December because you won’t need a taxi considering the traffic and many visitors in New York. Water is drink all you can. Toiletries are good.

  The staff were amazing. We were able to check-in early which was great since we had luggage with us. Anytime we needed anything, they brought it up to us right away. The rooms are smaller, which is to be expected in NYC, however I did not feel cramped. The layout was perfect and offered ample storage and space. Also, loved the fancy toilets!
