The subway connections are solid too, with multiple lines nearby, so getting uptown doesn’t feel like a trek. Couples especially seem to love this spot, and I get why — there’s something romantic about wandering those historic streets at night when the business crowds thin out.

The Rooms

The rooms are what you’d expect from Hampton Inn — nothing fancy, but they nail the basics really well. The beds are genuinely comfortable (apparently other guests agree, because they’re consistently rated highly), and the rooms feel fresh and updated. Space is tight, sure, but that’s Manhattan for you — at least everything’s thoughtfully arranged. The bathrooms are clean and functional, though don’t expect a spa experience. What I appreciated was the attention to details like good lighting and plenty of outlets, which matters when you’re trying to get work done or just charge all your devices.

Breakfast Experience

Hampton Inn’s complimentary breakfast is actually one of their strong suits, and this location delivers on that promise. You’ll find the usual continental options alongside some hot American dishes, served buffet-style. It’s not gourmet, but it’s substantial enough to fuel a day of exploring Lower Manhattan without having to hunt down an overpriced coffee shop first thing in the morning. The breakfast area gets busy during peak times — I’d suggest going a bit earlier or later if you prefer a more relaxed start to your day.

  The room was nice and clean. Plenty of room to put things in the bathroom and in the wardrobe, clothing area. The lighting was adequate. The location was great. The breakfast area and and the sitting area downstairs was exceptional. Love, loved having the 24-hour coffee, hot water option. The staff was absolutely wonderful. In all of my trips to NY, this was the best staff ever.

  bed was slightly on the hard side but not a problem, well connected considering its as south as you can get with train lines to go up the island all nearby, the breakfast was pretty good

  Room was small! We couldn't open our suitcase unless we put it on the bed. Asked if we wanted a room with a view thinking the view would be of the city, but it was of the building across the street that was an apartment.
