Casablanca Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Casablanca on Columbia Avenue, you immediately get that classic Cape May vibe — this four-star Victorian beauty sits perfectly among the historic district’s painted ladies. I mean, the location alone is worth talking about, and honestly, the couples who’ve stayed here seem to agree (they’re rating the spot a solid 9.7). The building itself has that timeless elegance without feeling stuffy, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to soak up some seaside charm.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about where this place sits — you’re literally in the heart of Cape May’s historic district, which means those gorgeous Victorian houses are your neighbors, and the beach is just a short stroll away. Columbia Avenue puts you right where you want to be without the chaos of the main tourist strips. You can actually walk to most of the good stuff — the Emlen Physick Estate, the trolley tours, and those amazing breakfast spots that locals don’t want you to know about. The fact that recent guests keep raving about the location (9.7 rating, seriously) tells you everything you need to know.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had that perfect balance of period charm and modern comfort — you know, the kind where you get the Victorian character without sacrificing things like decent water pressure. The furnishings feel authentic but not like you’re sleeping in a museum, and there’s something really satisfying about opening those tall windows to let the sea breeze drift through. What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, despite being so centrally located — apparently thick walls and good windows make all the difference.
Dining & Amenities
While I can’t speak to an on-site restaurant, the continental breakfast setup they have going works well for getting your day started before heading out to explore. The real beauty is that you’re surrounded by Cape May’s dining scene — from casual seafood joints to those white-tablecloth places that make you feel fancy. The hotel itself keeps things simple but thoughtful, focusing on being a comfortable base rather than trying to be everything to everyone, which honestly works better in a place like this.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Cape May has plenty of accommodation options, but Casablanca nails that sweet spot between authentic Victorian charm and actual comfort. The location really is unbeatable — you’re close enough to everything that matters but tucked away enough to feel like you’ve discovered something special. That 9.1 overall rating isn’t just numbers; it reflects what happens when a hotel understands its role in your Cape May experience rather than trying to overshadow it. You’ll spend your days exploring this incredible town and your evenings relaxing somewhere that feels like it belongs here, which is exactly what a good Cape May stay should be about.
New York’s apartments welcome families with play lofts, stroller storage, and easy subway rides to museums.

Breakfast was delicious and beautifully plated.
Enjoyed the extras….sherry&brandy, afternoon tea! Staff was very professional and accommodating. Our room was a “little house” out back ..although small..was wonderfull….the attention to detail was evident …as it was throughout the main house!..an old Victorian with a surprise!
